If that were the case they wouldn't of bought Bayonetta 2 and put up the money to publish it. Bayonetta is pretty ultra violent.

Which of these games is the most "family friendly?"Quote:
nintendo only wants family friendly games,
Zombi U
Bayonetta 2
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Tekken Tag Tournament
Ninja Gaiden
pre ordered my wiiu ^^
Please make ARR for this ><
Pre ordered it too. For a new Hideki Kamya game I'd buy anything and on top of that Bayonetta 2 a sequel to one of my fav action games right after Power Stone. But it's really a new mario at launch and the future of Monster Hunter that turned this console from an interesting purchase to gaming enthusiasts to an absolute must-buy to anyone interested in core gaming. (asaide from shooters but I never buy those anyway) .
As a fanboy disclaimer I still will definitely buy the next ps4 too. Xbox however needs to prove itself to me.
Of all the games Bayonetta and Lost Odyssey were the only Xbox games that I liked.
I'm not stereotyping Nintendo. in fact I had a subscription to Nintendo Power until I was 18 (though I'm 30 now), what I'm going off of is the lagging sales figures of the Wii and the the fact that while it does sell okay, it sells primarily as a "family" console, not a "gaming" console. Basically what I'm saying, like the Dreamcast before it, it will be more powerful than what is currently on the market and hit first, but be under-supported by both fans and developers.
Also, whoopee that Assasin's Creed three and CoD Black ops 2 will be launch titles. CoD 3 ( for the first year it was a Wii exclusive) was a launch title for the Wii, it was loaded down with pointless motion controls (whee! paddle across the river for no reason other than to waggle the Wiimote!), it was the most underperforming CoD title besides "Big Red One"
Really you guys?
Really?
Nintendo has enough money to last decades. I highly highly doubt the WiiU will be their downfall. That's like saying they'll be no PS4 because Sony is dead last in console sales.
And as for the casual focus, it's pretty clear they're adopting more core titles into their stream. Like Bayoneta 2 for example. As for why people are mad at Nintendo over that, why? They're the only ones willing to publish the darn thing because Sega's in too much of a financial rut. You should be happy it exists in the first place.
It's a slippery slope. 'Oh Nintendo's for casuals, they don't have hardcore games' to 'Oh that Nintendo! How dare they steal all the hardcore games!'
It's just silly.
Ya know.. SE has Dragonquest X online for the Wii (and will also be releasing it for Wii U) I wouldn't completely dismiss it right now, but I don't see it happening for over a year at the least. The limiting factor with PS3 is memory, and Wii U has more memory than the PS3, technically speaking the game could run on the system. Whether or not SE sees it as being a profitable version to build and maintain though is another thing.
On another note, when asked "Why PS3 and not PS4" Yoshida mentioned the install base of the PS3 would be much larger than the PS4 at its launch, so SE would wait a bit to see how U performs before making any decisions.
1) as far as I'm aware, regardless of how the sales are "lagging" right now, The Wii still has the highest total sales of the 3 consoles.Quote:

2) We're not talking about Wii, We're talking about Wii U. New system, new philosophy, new game library. Stop using the Wii to judge the Wii U. Just because the name is similar doesn't mean the clientele or anything else relating to is or will be similar.
Umm, dude. Take a look at the current game list. It is not in any way being under-supported. They are getting all the major franchises this time around. It's quite clear that they are no longer going to be left out of the multiplatform game club. Nintendo is seriously bending over backwards to break out of the "only for kids/family" stereotype. Hell, you can even use the damn thing to control all your media devices and use social media.Quote:

Well that's pretty cool, I'm suprised you could get responses like that out of AMD tech support about a device that isn't even released yet. Buuut, what's the relevance to the topic?
I have a radeon 4850 and I can run the current version just fine. The Wii U having anything after that just tells me it would be more than capable of ARR.
Wii U is slightly more powerful than ps3 so it's only up to SE's level of commitment if they want this game to have more players or not.
Xbox is out because Microsoft doesn't like monthly fees to other companies or for their user-base to play with other platform owners. I'm never subbing gold again.
1) If Nintendo could build a handheld system with a 3D capabilities(w/o the use of glasses), it's very possible.
2) Maybe not for the some but yeah, for many!
3) Features could be customizable to view on the gamepad but invisible on the actual monitor, depends on their approach.
4) Staying away from Nintendo wouldn't be in their best interest, being that it could recieve the worse press ever and challenge SE to port MMOs for other systems. If FFXIV can't be played on WiiU, it won't playable at all.
Porting an MMORPG as sophisticated as FFXIV:ARR for WiiU would open more doors, broaden an audience for SE and demonstrate technological advances in the industry.
I may be speaking out on a whim here but SE and Nintendo can work together with this.
and for what reason? ;XD
Well a console in old days didnt compete with pc when it comes to graphics and the price itself. this is since MS and Sony are competing.
a console does not need highend graphics. and i think it would be great for FFXIV the morenew players it could potentially attract-
and wont be around long enough for it to matter? how long do you think the PS3 will last? 1-2 years till the PS4 comes out??
sorry.. ridiculous arguments
besides that i think the WiiU is much better than the wii. because it uses a more classic gamepad control combined with a tablet and streaming technology (from pc to tablet and the way around) i think the Wii U will do well.
it has the exact same number of buttons like the ps3 controller (4 shoulder buttons etc.) + touchscreen function.
eh more complicated? same number of buttons it has.. + touch screen.. the touchscreen could be used to drag and drop items like in the PC version, to select targets... or to chat with people..
you could stream the game onto your tablet to play (craft) while watching TV..
i hate the fact that i cant watch television while playing on a console. with a Wii U you can.. like with a PC. i think its assum.
right it "complicates" it.. i rather would say it would be just more perfect than a ps3 controller for an MMO.
tablet complicates things? I'd say it simplifies them. It wouldn't necessarily have to utilize the gamepad in any special way, either. You could also use the Wii U Pro controller, which is more like an xbox controller.
Are you sure you're not just not liking the Wii U because of the name or because it's Nintendo?
+ the Wii U is in the very beginning of its console live. the PS3 era almost is coming to an end slowly.
it would definatley bring some fresh wind to FFXIV if the Wii U is going to be successfull.
the major difference:
PS3 and Xbox360 are out since several years.. PS4 and Xbox720 coming in 1-2 years
Wii U released this winter..
see the difference?
and you could also say the wii U start would fit perfectly with the start of FFXIV ARR ;)
They could even cross promote it with dqx and give sub discounts for playing both.
I've been watching these doom predictions about nintendo since gba.
Guess what wii outsold everyone and wii U has sold out in many places just from pre-orders while Vita is still hopelessly bombing in sales week after week.
For once I have faith in Nintendo because they have proved me and everybody else wrong so many times with their success.
With the graphics card from a reported leak (it's a Radeon HD 67** or something, as someone mentioned), is that the graphics card does support DirectX 11 (though that's a graphics format that Microsoft owns, so Open GL is its equivelant).
I would love to see how an MMO (FFXIV preferred) worked out on the Wii U, the tablet controller could make for a much better console experience.
If they can make it on the PS3 they can make it on the Wii U. Afterall SE is already making DQX for it which is another MMO. The touchscreen could be used as a keyboard ect.
I'm so excited to buy bayonetta 2 MH3U and NSMBU as day one purchases.
It's like all my favourite games decided to have a sequel party on one console.
Final Fantasy needs to jump in especially considering the skill mapping limitations of the ps3 controller.
Tera and DCU map skills on 2 different button combination layers and it's just a mess to play.
I'd much rather speed through old FF style menus like a ninja if no tablet input is an option.
The skill bar is a limiting mess not suited for controllers.
MH3U doesn't come out until march, it's not a launch title.Quote:

yeah people seem to mistake "launch window titles" with "Launch titles" ;p
but yeah I some times laugh, and just get plan annoyed by the "Wii U will fail" crowd..... same crowd said and still say the Wii failed..... still waiting on the proof of that one.
but yeah FFXIV would work well with the controller, and hell people seem to forget there is the pro controller, so the touch screen would not even need to be used, just use the pro controller and a USB keyboard, or use the touch pad controller and the touch pad would be the keyboard, it would be that simple.
This thread only reaffirms how bad this community is.
I can see this doing well on the WiiU, unlike the limitations with other systems out there they can be creative with how they decide to implement ARR.
As for the Dreamcast, it bombed in Japan and only made it to the states on a risk which it had unprecedented success. However two years later, despite the Dreamcasts success in the states, Sega decided to go strictly software after the painful legal battles they had with the creation of the Dreamcast and numerous hardware limitations they've had in the past nobody could blame them.
Capcom...yeah kinda on my shit list atm. It was bad enough with all the pay for DLC on the disc bull, but cancelling MML3 then saying "There didn't seem like there was much interest from the fanbase." just made me want to FFFFFFFUUUUU.....
also, if SE really wanted to make FFXIV successful, why not put their first numbered FF since 6 on the wii u. I mean Nintendo fanboys would just eat that up instantly.
no no no, a thousand times NO! if people thought there were compromises for the PS3 version, they would have to almost redesign the whole thing again to run on the Wii U. unless of course they come out with 6 brand new attachments specifically designed to enhance your playing experience for this game and this game only! NOW, for a limited time!
