I miss sneak/invis/tractor/warp/teleport a lot. :D
Would rather have spells than stupid menu options, so boring and lazy imo.

+1 to tractor XD
Return (warp) should be always active - because they dont use a graveyard system you can just "blood warp" to always return.
That or they should make you revive at the nearest crystal - then returning would have value.
As it stands if return is on a timer thats fine just equip a crappy weapon take off your clothes and die on the nearest monsters.
I couldn't agree more! I hate that all characters seem to be able to do everything now. No one is special anymore.
Plus, there was nothing scarier than standing right next to a mob and seeing "the effect is about to wear off" pop up! They added a lot of tension to the game.
Tractor is way old school. Would rather see a raise or raise ability that transports the corpse to you upon raising.
Well sneak is ot an issue, everyone has it, except to true sound mobs.
Invis would be nice.
no thanks hated having to get potions all the time
Warp. Cudgel.
On a serious note, it's not sneak/invis/etc that i miss persay... but rather the necessity of sneak and invis to mine the rare elemental and adaman ores of Ifrit's Cauldron. I always enjoyed this aspect of risk/reward in the gathering of materials in FFXI as compared to FFXIV where the only risk in obtaining Darksteel/Gold Ore+1 lies in the time wasted spamming enter.
Honestly this was to me one of the funnest challenges of XI, not to mention the mystery of moghouse gardening and chocobo digging...
I don't miss them. There are two effective methods that work fantastically in place of them.
If I see a bunch of yellow dots starting to pick up speed in my direction: "SHIT, GUN IT".
If I can't decide how to get through a bunch of mobs without aggro: "FUCK IT, GUN IT".
Works every time.
Feel like these ridiculously high-level monsters are in places specifically to keep players out because the developers didn't want players out there to begin with. Anyone who does manage to get to locations like these guarded by such monsters were lucky and probably would have used that luck better with some drop rates in this game. <_<
What if the monsters at these locations were truesight and truesound? All the sneak and invisible in the world wouldn't help and then we'd have complaints about truesight and sound vs. no sneak/invisible.
Sneak and Invisible sucked and Final Fantasy XIV is better off without the spells/items. I like the idea of being able to walk slowly to avoid sound detection enemies, and maybe they could add a crouching stance to lower the chances of being visually detected by the enemy. Under no circumstances should they add abilities that can only be used by Conjurers, or items that produce the same effects. It's just not strategic or fun when it relies on one's class or items rather than skill.
I miss chocobo rides being a method of 100% monster-free travel kinda like in, I dunno, almost every FF since II.
I was quite annoyed to discover that monsters in FFXIV can still attack you while mounted. Not cool, XIV. Not cool.
I personally hated sneak/invis and was ecstatic when I heard this game it didn't require it to go from point A to point B (I was a RDM and didn't have to lug around pots except in places that agro magic). Problem though with black shroud is you are forced to run through a tunnel from A to B. The new Black Shroud won't have these issue, though I think 2.0 is going to be a bit more dangerous of a world. I wouldn't mine if a future class/job had the ability to sneak/invis like a thief/ninja, though it should pertain only to those classes that can make a use of it.
I don't get the hate about Sneak/Invisible, personally. You're all ready sneaking, it just requires you to walk like a slug, you have no options with invisible, currently, unless you're a Gatherer.
I'd much rather have non-leashing mobs with sneak and invisible, mostly because it's more annoying than anything trying to kill a mob that auto-leashes due to you having to pull them away from the other 1500 aggroing mobs that respawn in 1-3 minutes. I don't know, I never had a problem with keeping things on me, or having the correct sub, it seems to me it'd be much more convenient than the current system.
This game doesn't need sneak/invis, it needs proper mob placement.
