Even tho i don't agree with this because it would make ffxiv look pretty cheap and dumb if they want more players that the type of thing they need to do make /dance emote out of real life dance in the world they can even use good onces from japan to make the JP happy lol even tho sadly if JP don't like then really who cares? NA and EU are the other big % of player base too lol. we really need to stop worrying about oh we can't add that because the JP wont like it what about the other 50+% of player base who is not form japan lol.

Have you even read any of the quest/achievement names? 3/4 of the leves are pop culture references and so are a good amount of achievements and other things.

Yeah, but the meme will eventually become old and overused, mostly spammed on 4chan by 13-year-old newf***s who lack original taste. It was already on MTV and Ellen. The meme is about to enter the end of its life cycle. While I'd like them to add it, I know we will all eventually regret it.

I don't see the point. By the time 2.0 comes out people will have forgotten about gangnam and be on to the next 2 month fad. I'm all for quirky side additions to the game, but adding something every time a new fad shows up would be juts a waste of time.

I don't get the 'gangnam' thing (i apologize for not wasting days worth of time out of my life just to stay updated on crap like this to please you), and I think it looks rather dumb, so I'd rather not. If /firedance isn't relevant enough to keep after they already made it, then this thing is DEFINITELY not relevant enough to make in the first place.

Pretty much. I mean, this isn't even something that was that big of a pop culture hit, it's lifespan seems to be measured in weeks rather than months or years. Why waste all that energy putting something in that by the time the game is released most people will be scratching their heads wondering what the hell it references? Gangnam just didn't have that big of a moment.

I think I have to disagree a bit, he's a bit bigger than a weekly trend. I mean, the video came out July 15th, was 2nd in most watched videos on youtube (where my little nephew found it and sent it to me), grew to something like 20 million views by mid-August, had a CNN, WSJ, ABC, and Time interview, played at a Dodgers game, then last week was at the VMAs and signed to the same record label as Carly Rae Jaspen (and dare I say it...) Justin Bieber. Also first K-Pop artist to hit #1 in a few different charts (Billboard/iTunes). That's a bit bigger than some weekly wonder, no?

Though I can understand some people not getting it, to each his/her own, but to me it's just about a guy that's having fun while not taking himself seriously (in contrast to the "seriousness" of the video). I know of kids and adults that like it, and personally I hope I hear it the next time I'm at a club, it'll be hilarious good fun =O.

As far as Pon Pon Pon... I don't get that at all, to me that's just trying way too hard to come off as cute that it's a little unnerving. Caramelldansen was just silly lol. Kind of like leek-spin.

Gangnam Style stopped being funny after it was on American morning news shows where you see middle aged women trying to replicate the dance. It's actually pretty cringeworthy now.
