They are neither.
An aytipical Galkan body is squarely rounded across the full chest, not just mass around the stomach. Like one might see for a strongman.

do you think clouds purple? what about fish?
seriously
Yah they wouldnt work in XIV, its not like we have any basis for sentient mechanical beings already.
Also taking these threads seriously. Shiggydiggy.
nah these are martians .
That's only in Crystal Bearers. In the past, they did have physical bodies (but still how they look under their masks was always hidden, and a running theme.)
In Ring of Fates, one NPC asks the main characters if they've seen what Alhanalem looks like under his mask. They respond "Yes" but when asked to describe it, they go silent, almost as if it was some unspeakable horror (In The Crystal Bearers, you can actually rip their "heads" off, revealing... nothing!).
Play the DS CC games. They answer this. Sometimes, they just plop a hat on top of their mask. Other times, the hat IS the mask, especially with black magey-type hats, which make Yukes all look like Vivi from FF9 or the automatons from FFXI. In Echoes of Time, you can easily equip a Yuke to look almost exactly like Vivi.Quote:
im wondering how a yuke (plate helmet) will look like when having a black mage hat on it.. no, please no..
I'm actually surprised this thread went this far, but as a big fan of the CC series, I"m glad it did. :D
See, now you're just obviously trolling when you're suggesting they add a race that's already in the game. (moogles)
Yeah if moogles would be like ivalice they could add them but still we already have a cuty cute race.
And since most of the players will have only one character ( since you can have every jobs on one char ) i'm not for adding new races .
Would require adding dancer job as a prerequisite. :p
The CC series did have two games, most importantly My Life as a King, which had a job system (It only has Warrior, Thief, White mage and Black mage). Clavats could be anything; Yukes were restricted to white (females) or black (males) mage based on gender, Lilty warriors, and Selkie thieves. Even though you never actually see the combat take place directly, it actually had a rather complex battle system with a combat log just like XI's. Given their primary weapon choice in the rest of the games, Yukes would have stats favoring mage jobs, though their second best weapon was the paddle (essentially a polearm= so I guess DRG would work okay), if they were in a mainstream game.
In My Life as a Dark Lord there were jobs as well, but the adventurers were the enemies in this game, as the monsters were summoend by the player. Yukes would appear as White mages, Black mages, and also arcanists if I remember correctly. There were red mages but those were clavats.
I can understand why some people didn't like the first game- the miasma mechanic made multiplayer, which was supposed to be the selling point, really annoying. Nobody wanted to be the one lugging the chalice around- in single player, you get a moogle to carry it for you. But the rest of the games in the series were much better, especially the DS games, which polished the magic pile mechanic, had fun characters, and good voice acting and music.
Though coordnation with other live players proved to be a bit challenging, the magic pile system was my favorite part of the series. I'd love to see that in an MMO :p
