This is common sense people. Don't let this version become a burden on the team.

I voted no
the majority of subscribers don't post on the forums.
I'll vote no, when I get back from work, but I'm not really invested in the outcome. Even if the servers are up, I wouldn't log in, or maybe I would out of habit just because they are. I appreciate them asking but meh... I don't really care either way.
leaving 1.0 servers up wont be a burden on the team. SE went over a year of having them up without charging us monthly, a few more months isn't going to hurt them in the least bit. and they already said no more bug fixes or anythin will be happening for 1.0, they probably wont even do weekly server resets.
I voted hell to the fuck no.
2. Certain story elements will contradict events from the Seventh Umbral Era finale.
So it is certain, something will be happening :D
I voted "No" as well. In a game where progression is pretty much the goal, if we can't make any progress, then why keep playing?
Let them shut it down and move on to better things.
No. Because I don't want to cry.
well there's a few things i see people getting confused.
1. he didn't ask if you wanted to play after the last save.
2. the game gets saved on nov 1st and they are keeping the game up til the 11th regardless.
3. the question is do you want them to keep the servers up after the 11th for the people that do not get into beta even though people could play, but not save their progress.
i probably won't play after the 1st, but i feel my voting no would be selfish to the people that would be still wanting to play after that point. i voted yes on that reasoning and the fact that i may get bored and go into game just to socialize every now and then after the last save.
I voted No.
Its time to take 1.0 off of life support. Let it die and don't drag out its death.
Lol, zeal.
I said no.
This thread = MY IMMERSION WON'T BE SAVED! OMG HOW DARE THE GAME BE LEFT UP TO GIVE US SOMETHING TO DO DURING DATA TRANSFERS UNTIL IT'S KILLED ON THE 11th ANYWAY!? D:
(PS I voted yes)
Voted DOUBLE no (both my accounts)
I voted no because the poll asked if I would want to log in after the finale. So I just told the truth not worried about anyone that might want to log in for fun. By the looks of the number of nos it will not be left up.
P.S. For those wanting to take screenshots and record CS why not do that now since its your reason for voting yes lol.
I voted yes, because I wouldnt mind logging in every now and then.
But for those who want as Leomike35 suggested, you also have after november 1st to 11th of no save but game servers are still going.
Voted NO here also.
Should have never polled this really. if you dont want to log in and 'Dwell on the past' thats your choice. Some people do, and voting yes would not negatively impact you if you had no plans on logging in anyways.
Voted No.. It makes the ending have more of an impact.
"FFXIV is going out with a bang!"
1 day later.
"Ok we're restarting FFXIV 1.0 servers for you to play on."
I voted no, I have no reason to play if my progress will not be saved in vers. 2.0
Voted no, would of voted yes if they had saved and transferred when 2.0 was ready. Feels like a waste to play after that point but they should really decide to keep servers up and back up at a later time or back up again.
November 11th= End of 1.0 Beta
Around that time frame= Start of 2.0 Beta :P
I hope the 2.0 beta will be actual retail when it some for it to Launch :P.
You do realise the reason there is a vote was because SE was going to just shut the Servers down without community input but then he got the impression people still wanted to play after the final save so on seconds thoughts did this Poll to see....
So if there was no Vote, servers woulda been off regardless of the outcome of the poll...
Me too and me either :)
SE just wants to know if there are enough people voting Yes to bother, this isn't a matter of the yes's outweighing the No's, so there's still hope. Not terribly optimistic, don't get me wrong, but still .. hope ;)
To all the nay-sayers whining about resources: If it was such a huge real-world resource drain, the poll wouldn't even be given to us: SE would simply shut it all down without consulting us as it would be "for the best". SE is giving us the option because they obviously realize it could go both ways if people are interested or not, meaning they have the means to do so without it being a colossal burden. I have faith in SE's ability to do what's best and if even giving us the option to leave them up wasn't for the best, then I'm sure we would not have this poll to begin with.
I voted no clearly because I won't be on after the final event and I clearly do not see the point... o.o OH WAH IMMA BE SEPARATED FROM MY FRIENDS OF WAH I'M NOT GOING TO GET TO SANDBOX AS IF GAME WAS A GOD MODE PRIVATE SERVER~
The End is The End~ the pages of the first book are closed and its time to move to the next o.o/ as for me I'll be dealing with TSW, Pandas, and Borderlands 2... and whatever other game perks up around then o.O
Voted no, because I guarantee they'll be those QQ's who claimed they got a drop / and or item that didn't get saved and come back to the forums to QQ some more ~_~
This seriously makes no effin sense
"Let's make the last save day Nov. 1st, but the end of the world on the 11th!"
So after the 1st, we don't log in until the 11th because there's no point. Got it.

i voted no, RIP 1.0
Its a lot easier to talk ingame than to get instant messaging ids from all LS members/friends. While my LS does use mumble there can still be issues, we for example don't want none members spamming mumble etc etc.
Keeping the game online will not influence the development of ARR, there is absolutely no downside to keeping the servers running, all they need is one of Yoshi-P's coffee makers to occasionally shut them down and restart them. They will not need any large scale maintenance.
Anyone that thinks it will affect ARR know nothing of how servers work, think of your PC, if you change nothing unless some hardware blows up you don't need to maintain the PC it will run the same all the time.
Voted no, rather SE use their resources to make 2.0 better.
If they do keep servers up I would probably still log on and do stuff lol.
I hold a big cross-game Clan/LS/guild together, we have a Facebook page/ls website/vent/mumble so right now there is tons of ways for us to keep in touch. I'm sure once beta arrives we'll all go back to the grind. well till they reset our chars after beta, lol.
why would they even bother keeping it up @_@. just kill the servers and bring them up when ready, its only a 2month wait if all things go right.
