Having more than one character, what's the point?

The point is:

Hiir Noivl, Siis Noivl, Spiik Noivl

So I can dual-box a female roegadyn and make her my girlfriend.

Well in my case, the point is having more than one character.

Forra's a duellist, Rorin's a runaway, Taemi's an adventurer, Arin'll be a student, Pendant probably a teacher...

If we get mailboxes and can mail gil, you can use that to transfer funds...otherwise, I'm hoping there is a system that just allows you to access and transfer items/gils between the characters as needed (at least everything not rare/ex). Even if we have to wait until we have player housing to do this...it just seems pointless to me to have 8 characters on the same world if they can't easily share/pass items. I mean even if you are actively role playing them etc., it's be nice to not have to buy the same level 38 sword 8 times because it was too much of a PIA to transfer it between alts.

Just because I can do everything on one character, doesn't mean I want to. There are so many choices in making characters, and there will be even more in 2.0! I want to enjoy that variety, so I plan to have 2-3 characters in 2.0. :) Another plus to more than one character is you have more anima and rested XP overall. And of course, storage!

Roleplaying purposes, Storage purposes, ability to see the other 2 nations storylines if they don't plan on allowing one to change allegiance still, ability to make new character to see how the new feel is for all new players lol. So ya, there are a few reasons to have multiple characters, it's also possible that they will add a limit to DOH you can level past 50, since there are 8 crafts and 8 characters slots, then perhaps they are adding this concept so they can say, ok you can only lv one past 50 for each character but since you have 8 slots you'll still be able to lv all the DOH classes just on separate characters,

As it stands with the current Client, I made an extra character to play though the Limsa story, and if I have time I'll do the same for Gridania.

That extra character is a Lala.. and he is a crafting main... unlike my first character which is a Hyur DoW/DoM from Ul'dah.

I hate to say it, and i doubt many ppl will admit it, but the reason lots of ppl have another char is to run a bot on it to make them money. Another popular reason is extra storage, and another is to PL yourself and/or "solo" things.

I personally do not see the need for multiple characters, and i probably will never have more than my one.

Also I dont think you can dual within the same account right? Sorry you can not be your own girlfriend. Well without doing one of those hilarious "ive never seen them at the same time" acts.

with multiple characters you are always building XP buff and your chance of running out of leve points is exponentially lower. And of course, inventory.

I have an alt. that have the main story quest active, just so i can have access to Minfilia's office to listen to the background music there all day long. Very neat track.

Hahaha, are you serious? You can't even be logged in with two characters at the same time if they're on the same account, which is what this thread is about.

And if they have two accounts, the answer is still no. "Most" people do that to dualbox, not bot. It's not botting when you're still manually inputting commands to both clients.

I'm sure botting is still against terms & services too so that could get their account banned. All I need is just 1 character if any. XD

reason why to have another char 1.too find a better sever to play on 2. crafting and 200 slots just for that 3. storage 4.finding the right char that fits you like taru runs faster than an galken 5. you have completed all the stuff and get board these are my reason and you have read others reason's and yes they do run faster try it

"Taru" don't "fun" faster than "galken".

dual boxing is not against tos since you are not use any soft ware to do your bidding you can do it too that choice is up to you if you want to have 2 accounts i have two one my uncle plays on from time to time same thing goes for husband and wife or close friend relative girl friend boy friend u can have as many accounts as youd like but i dont know why you would 14 is time consuming enough and b4 you just say something is against terms of service may be you should read it and right now se dont care much about the tos as long as you arnt hacking their data base as annoying as it is rmt power level companies are making to a lot of money and that money they are paying 4 all those account's is accutally making the game better and also b4 some one blows an gasket on how rmt ruins the economy actually they dont want to know who ruins the economy it us. that's right it's us we way over price thing's to a price that majority cant and will never afford personaly im planning on makeing darksteel and those relic wepons melded and will only sell most for only 50k it give's ppl a chance to get better and who dont have a lot of gill iv seen an normaly 3k item go for 75k cuz of some one one who is too greedy
