For me, it was fine. I'm glad that Calyx got away. It would’ve been boring if he had just ‘died’ that quickly.
And I liked that we were able to restore Living Memory to something beautiful again.
But honestly... when I think about Living Memory and Calyx, I can’t help but feel that once again, the Warrior of Light’s actions are kind of questionable.
We just shut those people down because we didn’t approve of how they 'lived'. We didn’t try to look for another solution to preserve them.
We simply erased them the moment we got the chance.
And with Calyx, instead of trying to store his data somewhere harmless, and have a chance to talk to him more, we immediately jump to wanting to destroy him.
Also that was not very smart. xD
Anyone who challenges our personal beliefs just gets eliminated. :’)
I really hope the story eventually reflects on that someday.

I really liked that one boss where you were forced to fight on your own, the boss was fun too!
though I also actually found the msq decent, I've been pretty checked out with it though.

Credit where credit is due, this patch is a major step in the right direction. The story is an overall improvement over the MSQs and previous patches. The minigames you had to solve and interact with in order to progress the story definitely made the whole progression more interesting than merely presenting facts to you, as they did in MSQ.
The dungeon was good, and the bosses presented some interesting mechanics that I found quite enjoyable.
The trial was also very good, though I could not help but find myself continuously comparing it to Zeromus, because of the overall similar setting and even some of its mechanics.
However, I find it disheartening that we only got these improvements, especially in terms of the story, after multiple patches, when we consider that this was also the team that wrote shb and ew. Granted, the team has changed, but our expectation of good writing has not.

I thought it was okay, definitely way better than the earlier patch.
The interactive parts were good and the Smile seemed a bit more appropriate timing wise, however because of the previous time it was used it unfortunately gave me a bad flashback.
Not really sure how to feel about the Calyx Collaborator, not surprised though - but I'm not a buff lore/story enthusiast so I'll leave that judgement to the experts.

The writers are certainly getting better with their storytelling.
The whole ending felt fake like "okay, waiting for Calyx to come back. Any minute now. Doo da doo doo doo."
