Many legit gamers use a vpn btw. I get a much better ping using one.

I'm trying to play normally since last week, but it's basically impossible. I need my last run to Floor 100 of Pilgrim's Traverse, but everytime I FINALLY go into the 90+ floors, we are getting disconnected. Sometimes 1 1/2 or 2 hours of progress lost, frustrated players and wondering if it's worth risking another climb just to lose it again because a DC counts as a failure.
I'm so sick and tired of these attacks. Sure, I can play something else in the meantime, but if I can't complete a challenge log item within a WEEK because the servers are unstable is just frustrating and demotivating - and this is only the tip of the iceberg.
I don't know if it's truly a DDoS attack, or something else that makes the servers disconnect. But whatever it is, I sincerely hope SE is finding a solution FAST.
And if it's masking the connection - I'd rather have a game I'm able to connect to and play, than not being able to connect AT ALL.
Most don't use VPN's to do attacks though. They use exploited computers and IoT devices from all over the world.
An article about one https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/new...otnet-malware/
DDOS again. Please do something.
Just got hit with DDoS whilst playing Frontlines this morning. Lost half my team. Still managed to win because the other teams were hit even harder. Wild.
I really hope the upcoming maintenance does something because this is just out of control. It honestly feels like someone is out to destroy this mmo and SE can't stop them.
Apparently their mainteance did NOTHING! I already got a DDoS when I wasn't even logged in for 15 minutes! I might as well cancel my subscription since it's getting unplayable with all the DDoS happening pretty constantly.
They don't care about the NA servers. This much is clear now.
They should. I don't have exact numbers, but i imagine the NA data centers represent a big chunk of their overall subscribers. When ARR first came out, Yoshi-P stated that if ffxiv failed, it would be on the level of ending the company. Given the recent layoffs at SE, i would imagine they probably still leaning on it quite a bit. I don't think they can really just "not care" about this.
Another DDOS attack has happened. Nov 12, 9:38 CST.
