Damn, I'm on spark and im still down.
Is there something special we need to do to raise this with SE? Or will mods automatically pick this up and upgrade to a ticketed issue? Sorry, new to the forums because of this issue.
Same problem on ONE NZ, got kicked off last night and haven't been able to log in since. Other DCs are fine, it's just Materia.
For those who are reporting this issue, I'm compiling a list of ISPs that are failing to connect to Materia, lmk if your ISP is failing too and I can add it here:
Failing ISPs
AU:Dodo(fixed),Superloop(fixed),Exetel(fixed), Tangerine
NZ: ONE NZ, 2degrees on PC, Slingshot, Spark(?), Sky
On a side note, I wonder if this is related to why my ISP causes me to keep being booted back to the login screen whenever I'm on Mogstation
A Superloop rep just posted on the whirlpool forums that they just applied a fix and its helped me. Hopefully works for others now too?
Checked the whirlpool forum post, according to the superloop rep: "one of (FFXIVs) upstream carriers has an MTU problem".
here's the link to the thread: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9vw4q1z7
Dodo hasn't fixed it because no one's posted about it.... might be an ISP-specific thing
E: I just raised a support request with Dodo with the Whirlpool thread as reference, cheers for this mate!
Thanks @Wevvin. I can now also confirm 2Degrees Mobile is now working. It was not last night and this morning. I've untrapped my JP main from Materia and can play now but Materia alts are still inaccessible. Also, I like playing in materia because my Ping is not as crap when I'm in JP. Sigh. So just the hardline bb for 2Degrees now.
Ive sent a ticket to 2degrees informing them as much as i can, will see if I get a reply but probably wont be till tomorrow.
as for anyone else, id encourage them to do the same for their ISP and let them know.
Same issue and I'm based in Australia. I switched VPN location to Australia and was able to view my characters in Materia. From there I was able to return to Home World in JP DC.
My friends Dodo ISP works now and so does mine on Exetel
Dodo just fixed it too, was able to log in without a VPN again
I've sent a ticket to Sky in NZ seeing as this seems to be specific to a few ISPs. Been unable to get in all day! Hopefully soon
Yep, I am on Superloop and I am back online, can confirm.
Still not fixed in NZ… and no announcement from SE in an issue that seems to be affecting lots of people
Still broken on One NZ, I've put in a support query.
There is some progress for 2Degrees. Can see the characters now, but when you try to log in, it fails and gives the 90002 error instead.
Late update sorry Tangerine is back up.
I was in briefly. I purchased a skip, applied it and after logging back in, it went straight to the blank character select screen... Several times.
Other characters on NA data centres are playable.
ISP: Dodo.
Still the same this morning :( really hoping for a fix soon
Same issue on Materia
ISP: 2degrees
Country: New Zealand
I'm having the same problem.
ISP: One NZ
Country: New Zealand
Still the same here NZ Slingshot although i can log in with my mobile hotspot
I can see my character in XIV companion in my mobile. All other data centers are working but Materia Data center. when i try to log into it i get no character thingy and yes after while if i stay on it i get the 2002 error. I tried to delete the game and redownloading it i still get the same issue. I tried to look up other ways to log it. some say try to do other data centers then try to log into that data center i still get the same issue.
For now, I've used Mudfish as it seems reasonable for short temporarily (hopefully) to get around this problem.
I followed this instruction https://www.icy-veins.com/ffxiv/mudfish-guide-for-ffxiv
During installation, I had WFP ticked as well. I also enabled WFP during the configuration step mentioned in the linked guide. The only part it suggested that to pick the node nearer to the datacenter, I assume it's to pick one closer to Materia's DC (which is based in Sydney), I selected "AU Oceania (Sydney - Amazon EC2 2)".
Note: you do need a Mudfish account and I bought UAD4.99 Mudfish Credit (for PPT use), which reported to have 32.6 GiB traffic (please do note that traffic usage will be doubled, e.g. if using 1GB = 2GB used, 1GB from endpoint to Mudfish, and 1GB from Mudfish to you.)
Yeah back to not loading characters again this morning. I was hopeful last night that it would be solved but it's back to not loading characters again as of 10 am.
NZ
2Degrees
One NZ user here, Still the same issue with not being able to log in. I just sent a support message over to them, hopeful others do the same.
My sister and I are both encountering this issue this morning -- 2Degrees (NZ)
Having this issue with Slingshot in NZ. Was hoping it would be fixed today when I got on.
Id strongly encourage as many people as possible to contact their ISPs and let them know that an MTU issue is causing the game to not be able to login to the date center.
This should encourage them to try and fix something on their end (if they can)
Nemir I have emailed slingshot to see if they can fix the issue on there end fingers crossed
I'm also on Slingshot, so fingers crossed they can fix it. There's apparently a tik tok that shows how to change Xbox mtu settings, too. Not sure if you're on console too though.
Well I got in contact with 2degrees, but according to them nothing can be done on their side. I made a post on whirlpool as well in case that could help with anything.
Still not able to login, I will have to say the support for 2degrees wasnt that great, since they tried to get me to use a static IP (that they charged me for) which didnt work.
They recommended I try port forwarding, but I'm not convinced that will affect much since the game was perfectly fine for a very long time up until this point. They recommended logging into my router and seeing if i can change MTU settings there as well to see if it will help.
Not sure what to do from here, wondering if something needs to be done on SEs side.
Most tier-1 customer service people just follow their scripts, but this is tier-2 or even network technicians' level.
One NZ just wants to know if the internet is working. If so, they'll say it's the manufacturer's problem. However, I'd advise people to call their ISP and let them know there's a routing issue and that the ISPs need to try telling their upstream to sort it.
Pointing to the Whirlpool forum post with the Superloop might be handy. Also, request that they traceroute to the Materia DC's IP (153.254.80.103) so they can see the route problem.
