There's been doomsaying on this forum since before ARR launched, even back during the Beta test, and that the game/SE is "going to fail" unless they "urgently do xyz". Some people just are not satisified unless they're complaining.
No matter what SE does it's always wrong.
Telling someone to not spend money on something they don't enjoy is just sensible advice; it doesn't make someone a white knight and I have no idea why people are so attached to complaining for months (some of you years) and giving SE money to do so.
When I felt extreme boredom and distaste for StormBlood, I just logged out and unsubbed, and didn't return for 2 years. I didn't pay $400 to have forum access and complain the entire expansion.
This is why I view the forums as a trap the same way I view housing
Without a subscription, you eventually lose access to posting here, a place where, if you're disgruntled / have feedback, they redirect you here to post about it with the expectation of being heard
but with some of the changes being made it makes me wonder who they are talking to / getting their feedback from

When the graphics update was first announced and the benchmark released, I had concerns regarding how the viera looked so I talked about it
There comes a point where if you cannot put out content at a pace worthy of a monthly subscription then something needs to change
The drought we are currently in functionally started in 6.1. 6.1 was just shy of 3 years ago. Criticism immediately bubbled up in the relatively empty EW patches that there was nothing repeatable. It should not take 3 years to get something out the door considering in the same time period (2018->2021) square released ALL of eureka AND Bozja
The criticism didn’t “reset” because DT came out because we are still in the same repeatable lull that started with 6.1. You bought up eureka orthos which the devs killed by ignoring our criticism that the mobs were pointlessly tanky and the design was hostile to groups over solo players (mob AOE’s could often one shot cleave through walls and across hallways and every mob was excessively tanky to the point that it was faster to level literally any other way)
We shouldn’t be in a lull for this long when they gave us 2 full field operations, a deep dungeon, ishgardian restoration and multiple dungeons in SB across the late SB->ShB period. The change in content cadence is just bad
