I felt the same. You are not alone. >_>

My body is ready.
No problem, legacy is confirmed. Not worried about that as much as how 2.0 is.
The general fealing so far outside of our little bubble is, Cgi is nice but we want to see game play.
They are going to have to knock it out of the park at Gamescom. A poor showing there and... well i don't even want to think about it.
Well, here's hoping that we see something good.
Darn right all of our bodies are ready to take this.
I agree with OP as to want to fall in love with this game. Like most people, I am generally excited for ARR. I played XIV when it was first released and felt like I was cheated on by my wife (That's how heart broken I was)! I want this game to just BLOW me away .. I want to be immersed in a world that reality just fades away!
AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
EHHH YECHH! Nasty, scary! Cannot unsee!
Seriously, why can't people post pictures of attractive people in provocative poses saying "My body is ready?" Seriously!?
Apparently you don't know who Reggie Fils-Aime is and where that quote comes from.
Edit: For the ill-informed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gc5cuekQto
I'm super excited! And I'd have to agree. SE really needs to pull a real good show if they want to impress.
Makes me think of the showing back in 2010. I was ecstatic of what they showed even though it wasn't that impressive considering what we have now, but still.
They need to top that. Like, they have to. We can't be left in the dark anymore and this is essentially SE's last chance for FFXIV.
Can't screw it up.
Probably not good to get hope up to high and create and image of what it will look like. MAinly simliar game with redesigned maps and battle system, where the engien an display more the 50 characters on screeen at once (thank god).
People were hyping GW2. Untill you get into the beta, and even now yo uare like? IS there more, it is to similiar to Rift and other titles and the camping of batttle hubs is horrid.
FFXIV even now graphically looks better, and the stories are stronger. THe diffrence is community. XI for a logn time had a stronger community of working together (untill the last year).
Its actually made me feel a bit nervous. The only major difference in v2 i expect will be overhauled maps, AH, lag, UI, crafting/gathering tweak, battle regimen system, and story
Theres been little information about what direction they are taking with content and everytime its asked people just say we will have Crystal Tower. Well yes, but how are things going to operate.
Then theres the issue of classes/jobs. Whilst the cross classing of most abilities has gone so each class doesnt feel exactly the same, we have been left with an unresolved concerns:
a) that there is little point to classes when you have jobs. (There remains some point to classes but not to the extent Yoshi envisioned).
b) that new gear is either class or job specific and thats a shame coz of lot of it is nice looking gear. similarly if they start introducing class (read: not job) specific weaponskills or spells thats going to piss a lot of people off. The most appropriate comparison I can think of is from 11 where Monks and Puppetmasters often complained the other had access to cool exclusive weaponskills or weapons despite the fact both jobs were hand to hand specialists.
c) that new jobs will be based off the same classes using the same abilities
d) no indication as how weapon types will be introduced (great swords, scythes etc) or reevaluated (eg daggers, swords)
There's a very good chance that we'll be able to heck the bed.
and most exciting of all, we'll get to heck it with a friend in our room,
whereas in 1.0, we have to heck the bed solo.
So have no fear, in 2.0, we will be able to have group hecking!
