I think the new voice is better, but still a little out of place. And the first trailer had a lot more drama and tension, maybe in the storyboarding of the scenes or the music.

I enjoyed very much the first one. While I did enjoyed the second one, my preference lies with the first one.
I believe it captured more of the dramatic events that will plunge Eorzea into the seventh umbral era.
The second one sounds a bit more as if it didn't really matter in the end.

Just my opinion. ;D
Good work on both of them!!

I agree better then the first, the music feels much more correct. The female voice always fit better.

They can't show to much all at once.

I dont know why but the Ending seems to make me tear up " And Witness a Realm Reborn" Those words Zoom off Around the World and meets up at the Center with the Logo + The Ending Choir Just injected me with Hype. The ending was Executed perfectly.

Edit: Also, Yoshi-p PLEASE PLEASE, LET THIS BE ON THE TITLE SCREEN!!!!! ( The World + the Sun coming from behind the Earth with the Start button just below that! That would be soooo Epic!!!)

Dalamud is not just a meteor. It's more of a death star. If you notice in both vids Dalamud isn't crashing into anything but hovering over and making it rain death lol

Love this new trailer, especially the crystal theme at the start, reminds me of XI a bit too :)

While I didn't enjoy most of the trailer as much as the first one, I agree with you on this :)
The ending made the world seem so vast and new and beautiful and worth exploring and....I'd be disappointed if 2.0 still didn't reward exploration again..=_=

You could see the "sword" on the first trailer too, I wanted to post something about it but I was too lazy to go through all the threads and see if someone already pointed it out <.< so I gave up...

This new trailer is... nice >.>
We get to see some shining crystals on a dark background with a classic FF music, very FF'ish, and we get a new voice which is kind of better than the one on the 1st trailer but still... personally I don't like it >.<

I think this trailer is more suited to be shown to people who have not played FFXIV yet or didn't play in a long time... You get the feeling that a lot is, and will be, going on and the fast paced scenes don't waste too much time on things a new player won't understand or care about.
The 1st trailer was more oriented toward us, the current players... you'd get excited seeing characters and places and things you know and start speculating about what's going to happen... something new players don't really care about.

The voice-over speaks waaaaaaaaay to slow. Makes her sound a bit lame. Other than that I liked this trailer much more than the second one.

I think I prefer this one. The voiceover is still a little wonky, but that's to be expected. I did enjoy the few new scenes quite a bit more though.

View of Limsa Lominsa being bombarded by Dalamud chunks? Check ;_;7.
View of the Shroud being bombarded by Dalamud? Check \o/.
Snowy landscape, possibly hinting at a snowy area? Super check.

The only thing it was missing was some adventurers brandishing guns and representing the Musketeer class. A fisher can always dream.

- Snowy Landscape is what i'm excited to see the most!
- I'm sure at Gamescom the Trailer there will show of the New Race ( I'm assume there is going to be at Launch Viera?) New Job(s) and the New and Improved maps, along with some New~New Maps.

Honestly i think the new trailer is amazing. The voice sucks kinda but its not as horrible. However, the music is awesome. And it really has that "adventure" feel that this game needs.

Personally, the first trailer is better, with the exception of the voice. The first trailer reveals what will happen and how, who are the heroes and who are the antagonist. This trailer doesn't show much at all.

The first trailer was cheesy. like 80's action movie cheesy. If I ran SEs marketing department i would junk it because it will actually turn people away from the game. Now 90% of that is the horrible horrible voice acting which makes the game come off as some lame RPG for D&D nerds. But thats all it takes to make a trailer suck.

This trailer on the other hand has some pretty epic music and the voice acting is much better. Also the way the music changes, and how the music ends with the camera zooming out is very well done. It seems a lot more professional and less cheese-festy. That's why it has the final fantasy feel. Because unlike the first one it doesn't sound like some horrible kung-fu movie.

Forgot 1 more thing.. when she says " A New Beginning Rises" the FF themes Tone picks up with the Emphasis on (Rises) Is yet another Perfect job on making the two collide.

What caught my eye is the way the trees are sliding on the ground and shifting during that scene. I wonder what's happening there....

Seeing as how bits of the trailers seem to be overlapping, I'd wager we're just getting cuts from the significantly larger launch trailer.

Though I liked both trailers (VA was so-so in both) I'd probably say I liked the first one more. This second was too random for me. Still, the ending of this one was pretty epic! I'm looking forward to whatever comes next!

Also, hopefully someone else thought this as well, but the female voice actor's tone and slow pace reminded me of Liete's dialogue from Grandia...

Some things that i noticed, the voice actor speaks in the same way that Galadriel (cate Blanchett) does in Lord of the Rings, the accent stays the same all the way though. The voice in the first trailer cycled through 3 different accents during the course of the trailer. Overall i prefer the voice acting in the second trailer.

There are a few new scenes such as LL and Grid being hit by meteors which looks like all cities will have some damage or be totally new YAY! The hyur's facial expression is pretty amazing but they might have cut out that last bit (shock > happiness > surprise > neutral).

Can we please get the music i really enjoyed the first part where the music is nice and happy.

Felt a bit more FFish to me ^_^

All right. Finally got to watching the new trailer. I honestly feel that both trailers are evenly matched in their whole.

However that first half of the second(new one) trailer was just marvelous!!! The way how they set up the crystal theme with the female voice was just splendid. And I almost felt that I had jumped back to the glorious days of when I installed FFXI and watched the intro cutscene and heard the first few words uttered by the narrator.

However the second half was like some of the people mentioned, a bit of clutter of different things mashed together very quickly. Being it the music or the visuals. But all in all as a whole it was a very good trailer.

Can't wait for gameplay footage in a week.
