Feedback - Mounting/Flying in Solution Nine?

This is one of the coolest hub areas we've had so far and the walk to the vendors does not get easier. I acknowledge that using the aetheryte is an option but in my opinion clicking through menus takes away a lot from the atmosphere of a zone that looks beautiful. Unlike Eulmore and Radz-at-han, Solution Nine is an open "outdoors" area with roads, so I might have understood why mounting was disallowed in the previous hubs but not this one.

I feel like it was built for the plot event in there first, practical city layout second.

Not that it's particularly an excuse – Eulmore also had a plot battle staged inside it and doesn't feel so awkward as an endgame zone.

Honestly Tuliyollal too, its so fucking big and vertical that flying would be warranted.

+1. Mounts please for S9. Its a nice big area with vehicles already around. (Even has a garage or two)

Yesterday I was back in Solution Nine for the first time because of the raid quest.
The place was almost empty except for the players who were also there for the quest.
One reason is definitely that you can't fly there.
At least when I noticed that you can't fly there I was so disappointed that I didn't want to go back there.
It seems to me as if the developers no longer know what players want.

Uh I think that's just your server ... I've been to S9 almost every day and it's always crowded. Yesterday it was just even more crowed

That is what instances are for, and already made to do in every expansion. It is not an excuse, it's an oversight, or shameless padding. Take your pick. If they had, say, autowalks in there that granted haste or more of those teleporter things it'd be something. But they have neither.

Please allow us to use mounts in Solution 9.

It is an instance that take place inside the city, though. They don't put you in the city zone itself, just a copy of it – but if the layout was different, it wouldn't make sense.

As I said, that shouldn't excuse them from still having a functional endgame hub – the aetheryte just needed to be away from the instance route – but if they're going to have an instance in the city then they need to build for it.

Even Limsa has that weird mess of ramps around the Drowning Wench that get used for several events across job quests and such. If you want stuff to happen in the city, the architecture has to be there.

The vendors are inside a smaller building many of us have said we're ok being dismounted in.

We've proposed multiple solutions that are utilised in the game already, to deal with this problem.

The area for the vendors in Solution Nine is huge (since they're not spread out like they are in Rhalgr's Reach), so you would need to make that entire area a dead zone for mounts. Allow mounts near the Aetheryte Plaza and you have the same issue of the spot you enter from being crammed full of people on them (which is going to add to slower load times and just be a mess). Make *that* a dead zone and it makes mounting in the area kinda pointless.

However, if they implemented it with those restrictions, then cool. Have at it.

It wouldn't be that hard to make specific spots in the city an area that gives the "Hoofing it" debuff to prevent mounting, they did it for the summer event in costa near the jumping puzzle.

I doubt they will allow us mounts, but what about infinite sprint in cities?

Bumping because I want at least a chance of devs or whoever handles western feedback, seeing this.

we know from Ydilshire they can allow mount while not allowing the chocobo as pet.
We know from island sanctuary they can force dismount in some zones.

They should use those to allow mount in Solution Nine, and force unmount in the commercial district. it's already a more closed subzone.

Yes, but only in the "outdoor" areas, not in places like the Arcade.
