Meowdy is mewsic to my ears.
Uugh gods. Never thought I’d feel a delusional obligation to defend the linguistic flavor of my insufferable Eorzean furry fluff balls but. . .le sigh. . .take a moment to fundamentally consider exactly what it is you uncultured baffoons (I’m kidding) so heartily ask to do away with. Examine ‘Meowdy’ at its core, its utility and mechanics.
Meowdy. . .comes from H A P P Y kitties. Not grumpy ones. Not bitter ones. Not sassy condescending ones who wish to look down on thy worthless existence. At its core, it’s a simplistic, pathetically warm hearted, downright jovial way to say, even unto perfect stranger “Hey there friend, top of the world to ya!” It’s an instant kindness and carefree spirit bundled into a melodiously tangible heart chocolate and just plain SLAPPED right smack in your palm with a smile that asks absolutely nothing back. How often does your dreary existence grant such unassuming warmth?
So I’ll play the pretentious oaf, knuckles on hips, and index finger you into the ground until you soften your cold hearts! Next time you hear some tomboyishly inquisitive feline, or heck, even a full grown beefcake tiger hroth launch forth that intrepidly grand introduction of southern salutations. . .take a moment. Shaddup and greet em back. Stay your inner callousness and be grateful someone’s still shedding shards of resplendent light in these bedarkened Eorzean times.
Meowdy is a good thing. Let the kitties have it.
People actually getting annoyed by Meowdy are funny to me, you must take yourself quite serious indeed.
I like it when people say Meowdy in party :o it's a nice little greeting no harm in it
Playing a cat and saying "Meowdy! :D" at the start of every dungeon is one of my favourite things. I will never stop! :D
