Their heads could be overall a little bigger than they are if you ask me.
female models in this game better get use to the ideal of being pure eye candy for japan, not saying i agree, but its clear the female characters exist to fill a certain demographic...
maybe iono i personally think they need to be the same body style as the males, i'm tired of every girl in this game being a non muscular twig, but japan need their wifu's to ogle, granted i dont much like animal girls, its kinda weird in my book, but the people that will play it should have the say.
i dont think they need to be made ugly like its some disney movie trying to avert the male gaze crap, but they could at least build the females in the game like their capable of holding the weapons they hold up is my point.
Edit: looking at in game screeen shots of the new race, i am glad they actually gave them muscle tome and a set of abs, im happy enough about that, at least its some effort in giving them a defined body not a porcine doll
You think they should look like bara baits?
not sure, i dont speak zoomer
I'll be honest, I really don't like that face for female Hrothgar... just makes me think of Miqo'te.
Which is funny because...

Assuming Wuk Lamat's the fourth face option, tho there's no way of confirming it, I'm glad they kept it at one humanoid face.
SE was actually super smart for this, because I'm sure there are people who were hoping they all looked like Mithra. Everyone gets what they want, and I can't wait until the benchmark gets released x3
But that's exactly why Miqo'te exist, though.
I've firmly been sitting on the side that the faces should match the males appearance (not human). If they can do it for the men, they can do it for the women.
Edit: like it's really weird to think. "Okay, so we made the male Hrothgar to appeal to a small niche of players who want to play a beast race... now let's make the women appeal to everyone," like what?
The new patch showed me that Wuk Lamat is really cute, but I still think that female Hrothgars need a longer muzzle. The face looks a little odd.
Agreed ^
I think she's cute, but she has that uncanny look to her and it's because of a few things in this particular face.
1. Short muzzle/lack of muzzle depth
2. The eyes have a prominent preceding lid that makes it appear more human. The brow bone in big cats should precedes an eyelid.
3. The face overall has a lack of depth which makes the face look flat and therefore human and odd.
*edit: depth should naturally cause shadows, which there is a huge lack of in this face
It's definitely the skeletal structure of her mouth and the width of her nose, now that I've got a closer look at it.
She's obviously got a very human jaw structure, and the teeth to go along with it (with slightly larger canines)
Meanwhile the males got these big ol' chompers and the snouts to fit around them.

His mouth structure is nearly twice as wide as hers, same with his nose.
She looks very "house cat" especially next to the males.
Which, I could settle for, if it's not gonna be the only option we have.. I'd like my beast race character to look like a beast. Ya know? We already got a race based on house cats :>

We haven't even seen the jaw and nose/muzzle options yet for all the faces. I do not want to be a female hrothgar with some manly massive beastly snout. I am happy they are offering a more elegant and feline aesthetic. Get over it. They aren't going to change it cuz a few folks are screaming into the forums like banshees.
The issue is more about WHY game developers need to have double standards for different genders of a race that's based on the same concept. Lion people. The question is why not take inspirations from the same species to do their female designs, when they're clearly capable of doing a more accurate anatomy. There's nothing wrong in criticizing those patterns.
It's honestly annoying, really... but also expected :/
You worry so much about the mouth/chin area of the female Hrothgar. What's much worse is the texture of the skin/pathetic fur. This looks like a cat with extreme hair loss. No matter how many times I look at Wuk Lamat... the skin just doesn't look nice. That's a huge no-go at this stage and SE should improve it quickly.
I think they were erring on the side of caution.
It's the female side of a beast race, they gotta make it look as conventional as possible for a beast race, I get it. There is an extremely human face amongst them that had me shaking my head, but again I get it haha.
Still disappoints me, though (and like I posted earlier, they rejected a male Hrothgar face for looking like a Miqo'te, but then gave female Hrothgar a face that's very similar to a Miqo'te. A friend of mine even thought it was a male Miqo'te).
I wasn't going to expect SE to do what GW2 does with Charr (though would have been nice), but I did expect them to at least do what Blizzard did with the Tauren.
I feel like Wuk Lamat sort of had too many teeth for the size of her mouth? Like they maybe used the male Hrothgar inside-mouth model piece, shrank it down and lined up the fronts, but it doesn't fit properly into the flatter face.
I've never noticed that with any other characters previously. Maybe it just stands out more because of the longer pointy ones, but that was my gut feeling.
