Alliance Raid roulette - what did you get?

I've been keeping track of my own roulette pop as well, without any order in particular.

Week 1:
- 1 LotA
- 1 ST
- 1 WoD
- 1 Euphrosyne
- 1 Void Ark
- 1 Tower at Paradigm Breach

Week 2:
- 1 ST

I knew it wasn't going to suddenly make CT raid disappear altogether. But I'm still curious how this list will end up after 3 months or so.

Well, if I remember well the last ones this week:

1 - The Ridorana Ligthhouse
2 - The Syrcus Tower
3 - The Lost City of Macht
4 - Agalia
5 - The Puppet Bunker

Anyway, I think it is too soon to see if it is effective or not.

Once the first person leaves and it's not a full run anymore anyone can leave without incurring a penalty. All it takes is one brave soul to free the rest.

I don't know if I have ever had an Alliance roulette take that long, even Orbonne. Seems like either there is a hyperbole here or you are having some really terrible luck in your groups.

It definitely isn't hyperbole, that really can and does happen, depending upon the alliance raid, the familiarity that various people have with the raid, their gear, whether they use their skills, and whether any shenanigans take place.

Then you must either be in parse groups or not pay attention to the time it takes.
An alliance raid taking 40 mins is pretty standard.

So far instead of Crystal Tower I've instead...got World of Darkness.

At least it's different..kinda.

30 is pretty standard for me, but anything before SB takes only 15 or 20. I usually do keep an eye on the time since I play before work and have to make sure I can leave on time and 30 minutes has been enough time for me in the past.

I find the Ivalice raids take pretty close to 40. The bosses just take forever to die. Nier is hit or miss, based on group, can get some big wipes. The 90 ones if everyone is on point 20mins is possible, even the new one I have sub 30 runs.





To the people tracking runs. Are you also paying attention to the in need class? When it is DPS I never seem to get CT and regularly get into 90 ones. Tank and healer always seem to fill into lower raids.

Good point, actually! Thanks for the reminder. My personal list are all done as a healer regardless of the on going adventurer in need bonus.

I think the reason is because it’s more common for DPS jobs to rely on roulette when tanks & healers tend to get faster/almost instant ques jnto their highest dungeon to level up.

The 2 daily runs I did so far this week were DPS need and I ended up in Labyrinth of the Ancients & World of Darkness. On both runs, I had a sub level 60 player in my party.

2x LotA
2x Syrcus
2x WoD
Void Ark
Weeping
Dun Scaith
Ridorana
Aglaia
Euphrosyne

Things that increased the chance of getting Crystal Tower raids:
- queuing as a healer (vs dps)
- queuing with in progress matching enabled
No effect:
- time of day

Three of the times CT popped there was someone who left before the alliance had even loaded in, either because they didn't like CT or because the character was only used to pick CT in the queue without the intention of completing it. Whatever the reason, it allowed others to leave the party without penalty and queue again. There was a new player bonus twice in CT.

The roulette seems to pop really fast these days with queues only lasting roughly 1-5 minutes at any point in the day. Maybe the chance to finally get a random duty has revitalized people's interest in the roulette. It has in my case. Dun Scaith and Ridorana in the same week, this has not happened since Ridorana was current content. :D Still waiting for a Nier raid to show up.

This week I've got way too many Labyrinth of the Ancients runs (none which were for a new player which I would be happy to help with) and one Aglaia. Seeing CT pop up shouldn't cause such a strong reaction yet after several consecutive runs I ponder if I should just quit and take the 30 minute break or just autorun in the duty and press an occassional attack button while, I don't know, reading a book or having a snack.

Is it fair to say I stopped doing alliance roulette because I don't trust it? It's got a lot of variance in completion time, especially if someone gets CT vs Dun Scaith or Tower of Paradigms Breach.

Did do the most recent 24 man this week though.

i don't run it a ton, but the few times i ran it on a mid-80s character since the change, it gave me an Ivalice raid each time on my Crystal alt.

That's what I've been getting too, lots of CT and 3 Aglaia. Only 1 City of Mhach. No Ivalice , no Nier. I used to get a fair amount of Ivalice and Nier before the patch. I changed the hours at which I play so it may have something to see with it.

This aligns with my experience from before the changes. I typically only did araid roulette on dps and for a long time never got any CT raids.

I'm not seeing any difference. I do AR every day and it was never all CT for me. It's not all non-CT now either. Getting the same variety I always did minus anytime there wasn't a moogle event going on.

Sounds like people are either queueing for CT or everyone rolled the roulette dice and that's how it came up if there aren't specifically new people there. Why is it even a question of whether you should punish the 23 other people by afking because you got something you didn't like versus being an adult and taking the penalty?

Bumping up this thread to ask if anybody else tracking their pops since today's the 4th week since the fix came to be.

I don't have any numbers from prior the fix. But for the moment, I'm somewhat pleasant to see how my result turn out:

Number of entries: 32

• Crystal Tower pops: 19 (59.38%)
• Shadow of the Mhach pops: 4 (12.5%)
• Return to Ivalice pops: 1 (3.125%)
• NieR pops: 3 (9.375%)
• Myth of the Realms: 5 (15.62%)

All queues are done as solo healer and/or with all 90s premade (we have unlocked everything). Number of entries exceeds 28 because there are times when I took the free ticket to bail out of CT raids when somebody does so before I did :p then queues back in to get the same (lmao) or smth else (yay!)

Will continue to keep adding the tallies.

Syrcus 4 days in a row, Mhach once, WoD twice.
This is from a Primal player, and at least here, patch fixed nothing, as expected. We had about 3 to 5 sprouts alliance-wise each CT run, the rest were either people who either got unlucky or accepted to be using an alt with only CT unlocked. Mhach had only 2 sprouts and the dps was so high we skipped the Arachne vortex attack and boss 2 pretty much merged the zombie adds before 1 minute even transpired. Void Ark raids are becoming CT 2.0 because of power creep.

IDK how you guys other DCs/Worlds are doing, but even getting queues for non-MSQ content was painful this week. Friday at 22 EST-3 I spent 28 minutes as a Healer in queue for Suzaku and 42 as tank for Eden Fulmination.

Nothing, I play on Dynamis.

I've had two Syrcus and one WoD since the patch. Mostly getting Wiping City and Paradigm's Breach.

Since the patch all I get is CT and Aglaia + 2 city of Mhach and 1 Void Ark. I used to get Ivalice and Nier raids + Euphrosyne as well on Primal but I haven't seen any of them yet.

Even Aglaia feels this way now. We are skipping to many phases and it feels the bosses die mid fight.

over the weekend i had 1 Copied Factory, 1 WoD, 1 Breach, and 1 Void ark (today a couple of hours before maintenance) ran as warrior, whm, and blm

I got Dun Scaith 2 days in a row

This past week, I've seen a few players say they're back to getting only CT for the roulette after 3 weeks of more random results.

Wondering if others are having the same experience or if those players have just hit a patch of bad luck.

I had stopped even queuing for Alliance Raids because it was nothing more than MSQ.

I started back up last week, and so far, all I've had is MSQ, and one NieR Tower raid.

For me really nothing has changed if all I'm getting is Lab and CT stuff. Honestly, whatever they did is a failure. If people want to raid such MSQ raids so much, then separate the selection out. Queue for Alliance but put in a caveat switch to either include MSQ or don't include them, so the daily rewards won't be an issue.

They should rework the whole CT raids just like the 4man dungeons. It's about time the mechanics and bosses get a glow up.

Hell buff the raids or nerf the players. Nerfing the item level sync to like 100 would be so funny for the absolute mayhem it'd cause.

9x CT this week and nothing else on my main (lvl 90 on all jobs, 640-660 gear, all raids unlocked). Abandoned 5 times. One occasional CT is fine but not all the time.

Having to buy MB gear on an alt because I have reached lvl 90 but not the point in MSQ where I can unlock the lvl 90 raids and get tome gear (MSQ content lvl 81) despite having all lvl 80 raids unlocked and being geared for them is insulting when the roulette gives CT almost all the time. I wonder if leveling players who unlock raids but end up locked out are a factor. I was getting more variety before the patch (not counting the event).

Anyway, I am done with this stupid roulette.


Edited as all jobs aren't at 660 but they are at least all at 640

I've been seeing an increase of CT after the "fix" as well. I think it's because the CT slots can no longer be filled up with the people who actually want to be there, so now everyone has to fill the CT slots. The "fix" is likely causing the increase in CT for the people who never ilvl cheese because of that.

Still only get ct about 70% of the time instead of 90-95%

So still huge improvement

I didn't get anything because I haven't done allience roulette for years :D
