Let's face it. The WoL is either a meddler in other people's problems or an eternal doormat for the Scions who trick us into doing the meddling.
We were going to go on an adventure with Estinien seeking hidden treasure from a map. Instead we start meddling with the Great Wyrms' family business because Estinien has learned to care about more than vengeance against his former enemies.
No doubt we will be going to the New World for a vacation while Krile learns to be a Green Mage and the Scions who are Archons take care of whatever business they've agreed to do. And then we'll get pulled into meddling with that.
The main point of the vacation angle is to stress we probably won't be meddling with world-destroying danger like 4.4 to 6.0 but that doesn't mean that there won't be some sort of problem we get pulled into solving that will evolve a thorough thrashing or six of various things.
