#1 provisioner DOES NOT GET YOU 100% seal drop.
Someone had to clarify...
I'm not complaining, i made a shout group yesterday for 14 hours, (stopping to replace people when people left and making sure the new people knew how to do their jobs). got about 20 wins of at least 50k, mostly 60k, got 5 seals total in those 20 runs. none went to me. so after an entire day of making and keeping a party together i got nothing but anima. its fine i guess but kinda demoralizing.
The only reliable way you are going to get these things is if you go with a static or get really lucky. I would try to get your linkshell together to start a static, with pugs, no one is going to ever pass seals making a revolving door of someone who needs them.
We have been doing it on the weekends (One of each hamlet) for the past month for about 10-14 hours a day and we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel just trying to get like 14-15 people all their seals.
If you are making a PUG, make a loot rules with wishlist system where people can choose to get seals or stuff like militias or gatherer hats, this will better off your chance at stuff.
Player a/b/c/d wishlist seals
Player e/f wishlist botany hat
Player g/h wishlist militia robe
Player e gets a seal, player a/b/c/d randoms for it.
every group i go with go with the "if it falls to you its yours unless u want to pass it" rule. and my linkshell kinda just fell apart so making PUGs is the only real thing i can do for now. you cant really setup a wishlist in a pug cuz people often dont stay for more than like 3-4 runs. my best hope at the moment is hoping that the seal falls to my list.
Went last weekend and we got 5 seal drops in a row, 3 went to the same person 3 times in a row, so he finished Aleport in just under 2 hours.
That sucks but this goes to the heart of the problem with the NA player base outside the top endgame linkshells.
This is not the way to proceed. All of that time, work and effort and you left it all to chance and got burned.
You need a linkshell, structure, organization, and a plan. We prioritized players within our linkshell based on various factors and passed all seals to them until they were complete. As a result we have one party of players now working on Ifrit for completed relics and another party of players working on their last 1~6 seals (this with losing many a seal to the occasional pick up player when we were short handed in the wee hours of the night).
FFXIV has moved into a new stage and it seems the NA player base is largely still stuck in a 2010 mindset where you could get away with being a loner or in a dead linkshell of 5 people. The game has changed but the NA players, in large part, aren't adapting like their JP counterparts.
You need to either join a permanent team or create one or you'll end up unsuccessful and jaded. 14 hours straight of Hamlet hell is quite the commitment and most linkshells would (if they operate efficiently and not like a band of pirates) reward that effort by feeding you your Hamlet seals.
I hate Hamlet. To pass the time during Hamlet we think of things in XI we would rather do than Hamlet (fully merit a job in a Dunes lvl sync party, Eco-Warrior, Jormy PUG until successful) so I sympathize with your night of demoralizing hell but the honest truth is....
You're doing it wrong.
Having a team would be nice. But I ended up getting burned on Hamlet WITHIN a endgame linkshell and left it.
So be careful who you pick.
Pretty much this, you are going to need a reliable group of people to get past not only this stage but the rest of the quest in general. If you can't get a static for this thing/ aren't in a linkshell there is really no hope of completing a relic, atleast not in the games current state. Maybe when they raise the level cap it will be puggable.
For whatever reason people still are under the impression they can do this because most people are still on the hamlet stage of the quest and unfortunately this just is not going to be the case. PUGs can pass off doing 5 chest speed runs but not ones in less than 17 minutes, and the fact that alot of pugs and even linkshells can't even beat garuda since the hotfix shows alot of people don't have a chance to beat ifrit, even once the strat comes out.
Who are you?
brb putting some popcorn in the microwave
no matter how much you tell this to people they wont believe it, they wont be having it
relics are obtainable to them, and they should be able to pug it
i know my group is a semi static, we are probly going to be REALLY slow at the AV/CC stage cuz we cant do 17 minutes, but we dont care about that, we arent in a rush.
And as far as hamlets go, i think we have gotten around 30 seals total from all 3 places(we do about 2 full day runs a week) in 3 weeks. and we have no issue at all with this drop rate, its been good to us so far with all the other stuff weve gotten cuz we are after more then the seals, which alot of people seem to think is the only thing that drops
I actually think Hamlet Defense serves this purpose, by the time I get 9 seals, I'll know who my group is.
*popcorn*!!
Um...No. What are you talking about? This is the absolute worst step by far as you have to spam it literally hundereds of times for 8+ people to get all their seals, getting top 3 is a pain most of the time too.
Beastcoins is just a moderate but simple grind, raids are entirely possible in 17 mins if you ignore the other chests and Ifrit extreme is just a challenging fight you do once, right?
wow, you obviously havent read into the next steps
17 minutes also REQUIRES all chests too
hamlet seals are also pretty much guarenteed at any zone if you get top 3 and go for enough runs in a day(all the bad luck in the world wont rob you of them at that point
Was in an endgame LS that recently broke so in the meantime im making PUGs. 17 minute runs are not hard to do. we used to do 20 minute 5csr on AV so skipping all the random check things would easily trim 3 minutes off it.
Im fully aware that you cant solo a relic. but getting at least the 9 seals, (which do not need to be repeated) can be done in pick ups. just isnt the best way to go about it.. unfortunately its the only real position I'm in at the moment.
I still stand by that hamlet is the worst step though, I'd rather work towards completing a very challenging goal a few times than grind hamlet for a month with poor drop rate.
You can work towards top one provision and be done in 3-5 run lol
Yeah drop rates are horrible sometimes and other times they can be good just go with the flow of the game I say xD
You know, as time goes on and the add in higher tiers of hamlet battles and our levels increase. Those score multipliers are just going to keep going up and up. and 60k+ runs are going to become easier and easier to hit.
People need to hold on to there butts. Because the day is coming, No matter how far off it may seem now. that these relics are going to be pretty damned common. Or at least the day when the stumbling block for obtaining these weapons is not hamlet but the double melded class weapon.
Sarcasm? If not, take the example of the people who are finishing it. Btw, if I had to personally say what is the worst step, it's the Leves. You'll be begging SE to make all steps as easy as Hamlet.
The only hard part about Hamlet is people letting you go as a job you want to actually play as ignoring the DoL/DoH slots.
