Craft first, kill second. Prioritize your bonus EXP.
All I have left to level is crafting/gathering now, but before I capped all my battle classes, that's what I did. The new Quality=more EXP system makes it easy to burn through your rested bonus. If you play on a daily basis, you aren't accumulating that much...maybe 2~3 leves worth.
You're right, I should feel pity for you. But I don't, I prefer laughing at people even when they do something that causes them to lose a bone or life in the real world, why shouldn't I just laugh at you?

However, I still don't simply enjoy crafting. Never have, albeit the minigames help with it at least. I'm only leveling crafting for one reason - to benefit myself.
Those classes aren't going anywhere. What benefits you more? Leveling a battle class you enjoy, or a crafting class you don't enjoy?
We know for a fact that crafting is changing again in 2.0. Maybe wait to try it there after you've leveled all the stuff you want to, instead of forcing yourself to do it out of spite.
Would have prefered more mid level activities to make the journey more interesting. Could have sworn they said they where making it harder but I guess they changed their minds.
All this focus on endgame content makes me wonder why we even have traditional leveling in the first place.

First, you should be getting 60-100k an hour lvling a dow/dom job to 50, thats 17-24 hours of game play
Second, you chould be geting 50-70k and hour lving a doh/dol job to 50, thats 30-36 hours of game play
Third, there are a lot of fun quests and missions on the way to getting 50 Quests
And forth, I guess this could be learning your job(ha) as every other power leveling thread has suggested. This, I dont care too much about as all my 50s changed abilities recently.

faster leveling on crafting yes pls BUT they would need to make it where your skill make the armor/weapon better than others because if everyone is lv50+ craft the AH will be alot emptier just haveing mats.
fighting classes are already super fast.
I level everything and I'm an alt-holic so I don't like my leveling to be hard like old school FFXI. Though I still do love the hell out of the old school FFXI grind.
I wouldn't mind as long as they increase the cap. Making it too easy to get DoH & DoL jobs to cap takes away the rarity of endgame HQ items.

Or start at level 1..since leveling is clearly an afterthought. There's no purpose to low and mid level content then, especially since most people playing 2.0 will already be 50 on one or more jobs and will demand more content for them, I don't see how or why SE is even attempting to try to pull in new players because they'll only get the short end in the long run due to this.
I could probably live with the leveling speed that is here now, but PLing needs to be removed. I can accept healing from the outside but this rapid rate of leveling is ridiculous. It think it would also be beneficial to implement capped content similar to how XI was.
Totally agree with you. the lvling speed in 14 is a little too fast, in 11 it was just about right. now if SE uses 11 lvling speed and changes it to were you dont lose any exp upon death then 14 will be doing well. the pling definitely needs to be removed! when the lvling curve is too fast the gear, and armour, items etc will be redundant to a degree since ppl will only uprgade say every 15-20 lvls (or maybe never until they are maxed out)since they are being power leveled or if the lvling curve is too fast. Why would some1 upgrade gear etc when they gonna blow through levels quick, when the lvling curve is just about right/fair ppl normally upgrade every 5 lvls.

Solo is always painful.
PT leveling is ridiculously fast.
Even it out a bit.
I dunno why people have issues with solo, I've soloed pretty much all my classes minus getting Archer from 46-50 in a party or maybe it was 48-50 but overall I don't see how it's painful. I have everything at 50 but Lancer, Pugilist and Gladiator, and I pretty much just rely on leves to level and take my time. I mean when compared to XI the leveling pace to 50 solo is a lot faster since combat is more active and the xp rewards at the end come quicker. Plus the ability to easily chain mobs for xp helps this.
Though I guess for me solo isn't painful because of the xp experience before abyssea in XI. Since in XI it was pretty much impossible to solo on any job unless you were a specific job but even then it was slow, this was pretty much like this til they release things like "kill x mob" books and abyssea that lving became a breeze. So perhaps coming from a game where soloing was hard to a game where I can pretty much solo any of the classes in this game to 50 makes it where I don't see it as a pain to level.
As for the short time to lv to 50 it should stay as it is now otherwise people will complain how older players had it way easier with the xp needed being so low. I will agree however that they should remove the ability for an outside player to kills mobs and possibly reduce the lv range for xp to something like 5 lvs with a 8 buffer at a reduced amount of xp.
You have to keep in mind the pace of lving now is working as intended because the main idea right now is for people to enjoy the one time story, if lving was to hard and it took weeks to get one class to 50, then a person who joins in July/August may miss out on all the content because they just weren't able to get 1 class high enough to be able to experience the one time story.
i like the current leveling, except for DOH ~ (personaly i'd prefer for DOH: 1 quest = 1 level as well as more exp leveling for it + better leve exp bonus'es)
& fishing removed.... but thats a different issue
