Well, I'm definitely short of the recommended this time.

Some more updates:
-New Strategy Board will let you discuss and visualize your strategies for fights
-The Free-Trail will now expand to Stormblood (will be released in 6.5X)
-XIV and Fall Guys crossover? Fall Guys will be getting a season pass with XIV themed costumes and emotes, XIV will be getting Fall Guys-esche content in the Gold Saucer. (Planned for 6.5X)

Not excited at all about Xbox players joining. I will also be furious if they put it on GamePass when all of us have to pay for it.

color me underwhelmed but not displeased.

I'll sum up this trailer in 4 points:
- placed in the new world, so here dies our last hope of having the golbez/azdaja storyline to have any kind of relevance.
- why bother making a whole scene of the scion disbanding and going their own way if when you travel halfway through the world, they're magically all there. I like (most of) the scions, but I hope we'd go back to the aventuring vibe and new guys we got in early AAR, or with the ShB role Quest, this sense of discovering new things and people, with maybe some of the scions. Here it gave me a "more or known things".
- planned for early summer, so 1 patch for at best 10 month. I could understand that during covid, but here, it's gonna be long.
- On the positive side, the settings looks nice and interesting.

Mao has question abouts gears to has two dye channels. Is gonna be for new gears only or will old gears be changed to fits new system?

As much as I'd rather have the expansion be in just 1 place, the cloud cover over Meracydia and the southern-most bits of the New World is much sparser than the clouds over Ilsabard and you can see actual terrain details beneath the clouds.

It's possible Meracydia may be revealed at a later time in a future fan fest. Or I'm looking too deep into it.

These things can have pay offs multiple expansions later. The Warriors of Darkness fron 3.4 paid off in 5.0

They said gear will be upgraded, but maybe not all of it by 7.0. So it's not new gear only.

It's surprising we will still have the Scions traveling with us. I expected to see the involvement of the Students of Baldesion, with Krile and G'raha being the most prominent NPCs, and the introduction of new characters and storylines.

The graphic upgrade is pleasing. FFXIV will definitely be a better looking MMO but it's not so much a leap forward that most players would have to upgrade their computers.

And I need that soft taco in my life.
