Fan Fest Hype

Debating whether I'm willing to stay up for a thing that starts at 2am and ends at 3:30...

Glad it was on here in the UK and I did not have to stay up....not so great for me seems a little lacking. All this CEO crap bores me. I am glad I did not pay to go to this if I had been able as just pictures of grass and flowers as lovely as they are is a bit boring lol.


The trailer was nice but the music I did not like that much. I know the next fanfest will show a little more but I would have fallen asleep if I was there lol.

Theories I've seen so far on Yoshida's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" shirt:

• simplest answer: confirmation of scouting DPS
• the turtles are named after artists, so Pictomancer
• quarterstaff user
• "pirates vs ninjas" so Corsair
• turtles = Beastmaster
• green turtles = Green Mage
• "Genbu is a geomancer"

In short, whatever people want to construe it as.

The keynote has been SO GOOD, I'm excited about everything and too hyped for my own good!!
I'm surprised at all the awesome things they announced and it's just the first Fanfest! *Bounces*

I really, REALLY wanted, no I needed to be hopeful for what I saw. Instead we got Costa del Sol: the expansion. I don't care about graphical updates and the Fall Guys and Xbox bit were both laughable. The concept of a dual wielding sword class is intriguing but I NEEDED pet class to replace the removed Summoner. That was my gateway into the world of XIV and it's gone now.

In short, something in the coming presentations needs to really thrill me because this one ret, really didn't.

I'M SO HYPE! Can't wait to have a fun tropical adventure with the Scions, and explore the New World! Also the graphical update looks so good! Cannot wait for this! :D

I didn't even think of Costa del Sol until you said it... actually no, that's slightly a lie, I thought of it from the first shot of the underwater coral reefs when I was trying to make sense of where they were. But after that, it's clearly its own thing.

If anything, it's the sort of biome they were going for in that region, between the beach and the rainforest section, but it pales in comparison to the scope they're going for here.

Anyway, I'm excited for the glamour upgrades. I will be a happy glamourer, so long as the scratchy textures they insist on putting all over their "upgraded" gear designs don't undo all the benefit of the dye improvements.

Also, my glasses-wearing character can finally not be left half-blind if he wants to wear a hat.

I was so excited to hear we'll have 2 dye channels on each gear piece now

I'm very excited for this expansion. Liked a lot of what I saw. Love the name. This Meteor is HOT but I do love the rogueish ones best. Feels like he stepped out of Assassin's Creed Black Flag or Rogue.

Glad to hear we will get more BLU, more Hildy, and that they're continuing with Variant Dungeon content, Deep Dungeon, and something like Island Sanctuary.

The X allied tribe has me excited to see what else from X might get included. Shoopuff mount Yoshi-P?

Looking forward to what else we find out in October.

The graphical updates to the zones are nice. They look incredibly vibrant and dense now, but nothing suggests that there will be content that makes them worth exploring and inhabiting. And no, I'm not hyped for more rote and predictable DF content—none of which I can do with my friends or SO anyway because they are still slogging through the interminable cutscenes of the previous expansions.

What we were shown looks great! I already want to go an explore Tural and meet it’s people ^.^
