I hope this whole 6.x void arc is not an isolated thing, even if Yoshi P may have stated that in the past. Because that would really be a bummer to the overall buildup to it and the characters potentially involved with it. I really wish this whole 6.x story will lead to the actual void arc, somewhere in the future. But that depends how the final patch resolves it.

Let alone if the Wards would even work on "Bodyless" Souls. (Unless they pull the whole Form to the formless again.)

If there is even anyone still arguing that its terrible story writting or that there are lose threads were none exist.

No one is arguing that interest plotpoints and story shouldn't be part of the MSQ.

but that until it all gets tied into the story somehow, nothing will change.

Here's a Bone for you..,

Tataru's Grand Endeavors, as well as many other current side content that changes and evolves with past content will always be a lure for new players to complete old content.

Whilst the rewards may never be enough to pull in everyone.

Eventually, It becoming MSQ mandatory will be less taxing for those lured in by content/rewards by side content.

It may not be relevant now, and that's perfectly fine. But don't push like it is relevant, until The devs announce in a LL multiple months before its an actual coded requirement for new content or Expac unlocks.

Just like how they gave nods to Content Prior to Endwalker in LL, as well as the trailers potentially baiting the interested to completing said content.[Though tbh, it wasn't actually baited, if they wanted to do so.]

In the end, if The Void Adjacent Side Content does become Valuable or relevant.

We likely won't experience massive changes to the story until after something large and altering was given time to cook.

<The current addition in the MSQ won't change the status quo of the void much. in terms of land and etc. but if say a single mass of lad was hit with resplendent light, and became balanced and grew unobserved for a expac or two. That would draw curiosity for a expac in the void for those that worry about lack of interest. Yet regardless, at minimum, I'm sure the devs will cook at least something decent to draw peoples interest in.>
