Honestly happy with the job selection we have now. All my favorites are already here, so I don't really want for anything.
Curious what they choose to come next though. A Blitzballer sounds really fun though I'm not sure how they'd fit it into the lore here.
More jobs? Why? Jobs are only reskins.
Cheers
Ooo, Blitzballer could be an interesting job, though I would rather see it added as a side-game rather then job TBH.
Honestly I do not sub to the idea that "All jobs are the same" but I would be happy for them to take an expansion off new jobs and instead work on the ones we have, though I doubt that will ever happen due to new jobs being a big draw/aspect of new releases.
Time mage! I want to pause the raid to go make a coffee from time to time :3
I would prefer no new jobs, and have them work on the jobs they have now and give them more identity. I would also prefer that they work on job quests for the present ones.
all they usually do with new jobs is take abilities from the existing jobs, often the more powerful ones so that the new job is desirable and the old jobs become more alike.
something "new" is only great because its shiney. they need to make what is in the game now better.. not further dilute them.
I was a soccer player earlier in life so I think the Blitzball as a side-game even would be great. I did kinda like Wakka's gameplay in 10 so wouldn't mind it being a full on class, with enchanted balls or something. Wow...maybe "enchanted balls" isn't the best way to put it lol.
Haha well we have Thal's balls so may as well have Enchanted too!
Wakka was fun, so a job around that could be interesting. Perhaps they could have a combo system, build up with attacks and then launch a 'grand dunk'. Probally have some really cool animations too.
Names are not a very good description, just look at Sage, the old Sage is completely different gameplay-wise then its FF14 counterpart. So instead of names, I would like to say what mechanics I would like the jobs to have.
Tank: Using a spear and a shield, Valkire style that also wields Ice aspected magick.
Healer: I would like something like DNC, but instead of over-buffing your dance partner you apply heals through damage.
Melee: Something with a whip, probably close to how Ranjit plays.
Magic DPS: I would like something like a disease mage, applying dots and inflicting status effects on the enemy.
Ranged DPS: Something like a Blitzball player from FFX, I always thought it would be extremely funny to just hit my enemy in the face with a ball.
Blitzball job and runeknight need to get into the game, desperately. But looking at job balance, I dunno about that one.
I think a Beastmaster would be fun. Kinda like the one from FFTA. I say FFTA and not FFTA2: Grimoire of the Rift because the FFTA version was more badass in my humble onion lol
or Chocobo Knight. that'd be hilarious XD
but should Chocobo Knight be a tank or DPS? hmm...
I'd also say Geomancer but Monk's kinda like Geomancer anyway. I think???
Sage:

All joking aside, the other ones are pretty good suggestions lol
(I do kinda wish SGE leaned more into the kardia aspect of its kit instead of being a SCH clone though)
I would like a real support job. Not a "I'm DPS but I have this one ability to help" job...REAL support.
Maybe a Calculator? Not sure how that would transition from Tactics to here.
Time Mage seems like a good idea too. I do vaguely remember them saying no more traditional FF jobs and from here on out they will be original.
Would prefer them to work on the jobs we have already than start a new one. Healers are uninspired and require some love. Ranged and casters need to be rethunk on what they contribute.
I really want a Mystic Knight spell blade tank that plays akin to SAM where you build Enfire, Enblizzard, and Enthunder charges then unleash them all together for a big attack.
Longsword and magic DPS class.
It is such an obvious and popular trope and yet there isn't one we can play?
As it stands, if I want to use a sword I have to play a Samurai (which is cool but also a very different class fantasy) or I have to be a tank and die of boredom.
Red mage doesn't count.
Names are probably going to be related to something more FFXIV centric and less generic as they are moving away from the traditional FF Jobs.
Two-handed DPS (more big weapons), Dual wielding Tank, Dual shield Tank (such character already exists), Wand+Scrolls Caster, Whatever the Inkmage/seal using casters there's already been some in story/bozja. etc.
They have a lot of options, but my biggest wish is role overhaul, as it is everything aside from some DPS are starting to get seriously same-y.
None.... I'd rather the dev work on the existing ones
We have enough existing jobs, they need to be more unique from each other rather than adding more which will inevitably be homogenized into the fold.
Listen, if you're not throwing up at least three Succors and a wild Physick in between every Broil and dot refresh, are you really playing scholar right?
I mean in a way healer has the hardest rotation - hard to not fall asleep to.
wakka in 10 used slots (the slot machine kind, like tifa from ff7) for his overdrives so i don't think they could really make that work in an mmo game but it would play into the idea of phys ranged having procs and stuff of that nature. they could make it work like dynamis dice from bozja but i think people would complain that it means that corsair will never ever be a job since that was its thing in ff11
None of my dream jobs will feasibly make it into XIV. However I would rather they focus on un-homogenizing every role, if they introduce a new job with the current job design direction it's only going to dilute more ideas that could've been used for already existing jobs, otherwise we end up with complete wastes of effort like SGE.
With the talk of "Transformation" in Endwalker with the ancients, a shapeshifter class could be cool. Like a druid in DnD, but with that FF14 twist. Could maybe merge it with Beastmaster.
(Also, I dunno how into FF7 everyone here is, but I noticed that Reaper is apparently making an appearance in Evercrisis. Here's to more scythe wielders in future FF games.)
Either an aiming or a scouting job. I'd say that between them, aiming would be more likely due to party composition diversity. Yeah, Ninja is still solo scouting not sharing their left side gear with anybody, but they do share a party slot with other 4 people. In fact, I believe it would be more sustainable in the long run if they merged both aiming and scouting into the same armor category.
And same party composition reasons, the second job for the next expansion will certainly be a caster.
I know it'll never happen in a million years, but personally, I would like to see them give the arcanist treatment to all the current jobs rather than have new ones from scratch. This would give an opportunity for things like Ranger and Thief (treasure hunter?) to branch off from Archer and Rogue, and maybe Geomancer could branch off from Conjurer, Rune/Mystic Knight could come from Gladiator as more of a DPS than a tank and maybe the oft mentioned Blitzballer could come from Pugilist? I dunno what they could do with Marauder, Lancer or Thaumaturge, though. Maybe something akin to the 1.0 version of THM/BLM with the more light/dark based spells? But yeah, no ideas for MRD and LNC. If they wanted to keep going, maybe Astrologian could have the option to unlock Time Mage at level 50 or something and like, Machinist could unlock something like Puppetmaster that made greater use of automata. No clue for DRK. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else could be offered, but none of this will come to pass anyway, lol.
Aside from all that nonsense, I would honestly like to see something totally new. Maybe a new caster since we haven't gotten one since StB, I think.
Time mage! reduces GCD to instant
I know WARs got like 3 hammer glamours so far, but I'd love to have an actual job that uses a 2h hammer, preferrably a dps. If Gaia can go around bonking stuff in those heels, surely we can too!
