Chinese language does not have gender specific pronouns. Both men and women are referred to as “他”.

Pretty sure you would feel right at home.

I think there's fair representation in the games to be honest -- it just requires imagination because the developers are not gonna say "he, this character is non-binary! Praise us!"
I don't but into the whole thing that you need to be vocal about claiming your gender identity as well. Some people don't care about letting the world know (in fact, I think the majority of the people think this way).

To me, most of the Archons seem to have some type of non-traditional gender orientation. At least, it isn't too hard to imagine this.

I'm honestly kind of taken aback by how casually transphobic some of you are. Some of these comments wouldn't be out of place in the comments section of a Ben Shapiro video.

If Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. can’t handle a single web forum, why should they be trusted to run the world’s third-most popular MMO? Does the Board not realize that they only have a handful of good employees, and they yanked them all away for a shitty DMC clone made with the sole purpose of pleasing investors in the West? Because nothing else this company makes is worth the time or effort. Is anyone on this forum even on the company’s payroll?

Not sure why everyone’s so deeply in love with this company, but between shitty community management and the poor patch cycle we’ve been getting, it’s clear that FFXIV is being put on the back burner and is no longer this company’s flagship title (despite being its most profitable one).

2) You say SE is driven only by pleasing shareholders, but think that also means they no longer care about their most profitable game? Does that make sense to you?

This thread has gone way off course as far as this being a discussion about FFXIV. It's now devolved into your typical political twitter drama. A moderated forum would have prevented this and removed those types of unncessary posts. I don't know why people come to a FFXIV forum to discuss this in this manner.

why? because the moderators are seen less often than a unicorn. they are mythical non entities that do less than the STF against known bots.

come to think of it, sometimes the ONLY person that seems to do anything at SE is Yoshi, the story people and the musicians... the rest just seem to collect a paycheque for going to daily tea gardens or something

How they handle the forums and their complete lack of disregard for anything that goes on here is one of my biggest disappointments in the FFXIV team. And I do include community management as part of the team. It seems they just put up post limits and a subscription or free trial requirement and walked away. That's not good enough.

Only in some parts of the world and some cultures - amongst most Asian communities it isn't that pronounced or even discussed (I'm in a traditional Asian culture). Amongst my Middle Eastern friends it also doesn't seem a dominant topic or concern. Often in this forum, I think people default to a US centric mindset and forget the rest of the world may not see things the same, which makes some sense since this is the English forums, I suppose ^^

Doesn't matter if it's the world or not. They're still one of the smallest groups of people on the planet. That's not my opinion, that's just statistics. That isn't to say their wants are all bad ofc. But many expect alot which isn't feasible (Considering their size).

In XIV gender doesn't really matter as thats not a focal point. Both men and women are equally capable and it doesn't need to go past that as biologically that's the camp we all fall into (with the exception being intersex people). How a particular person feels outside of their biological sex is their deal, not the devs.

Only in America where gender can't be determined. Outside of the U.S everything is normal
