And shiva, ramuh and leviathan are in the game too

Square Enix is a company known for their originality in their works and never borrowed and reused ideas.
I am willing to bet they are even so unoriginal that the game has a Cid...
which although borderline tradition, would be a reuse of name assets.
no interest in 16 myself, but if the OP is so concerned... maybe they shouldnt buy it, unless they are just popping this out there to be a troll
hey did you guys know that one of the early resident evil games and megaman legends shared the same menu noise
assets get reused all the time in companies. it isn't that unusual. i don't mind it unless a game uses the same asset repeatedly, such as eureka orthos using enemy models that are supposed to be from literal dead planets on the edge of the universe somehow.
and they have the gal. THE GAL! To use english!
I WAS EXPECTING A COMPLETELY NEW LANGUAGE!
I am on the FFXVI looks "Eh...okay... wait until it goes on Gamepass or PS Plus" bandwagon, but imo......it does not look like reused assets, but more of the same. More of the same XV type $hit.
Said it before, will say it agian.....
The last FF masterpiece was XI, the last good one was XII.......Beyond that is a mix of Persona, WoW & Bayonetta 3. Ironically, XI & XII were turn based -esque....
*Hint, Hint......*
Id say it failed because of the Paradigms Battle System, and because it was a Linear game all the way until Chapter 11 where the game finally opens up....and it puts you in a HUGE Directionless Open Field full of enemies Above your level, that barley give any EXP, and its a Massive Grind spot which slows the game down to a halt.
And XIII-3 was basically an Adaption of Noahs Ark with Lighting Being a Cosplay Girl.
XIII had ALOT of Problems, and it doesnt have to do with XII.
XIII-2 Id say was pretty solid. Its just that I hate Time Travel Themes.
On that note, can I have the option to upgrade my FFXIV UI fonts/textures to the XVI versions? Both that health bar and the nameplates, for instance, look so much cleaner.
Already pwnt him on BLU.
Twenty Seven Minutes of how the hell are my hands still functional
I need the ability to reply with a laugh emoji at comments like yours, from the ridiculousness of them. The last masterpiece was XI? The last good one was XII? Riiiggghhtttt.
And turn based is dead in FF. You can find it in other games, but it's not coming back for Final Fantasy.
Huh, an obvious Titanmen alt starting crap again. Color me unimpressed.
With all the facepalms, how does OP's face not hurt??
What is the problem with reused assets? Doesn't that mean the development team is smart and focusing their attention on more important things? I fail to see the problem.
Yoshida will helm FF anything from here on out so you should expect this.
He already took care of that problem. That's why he's making threads about FF16.

Reusing assets from other games within the same franchise is a very, very common practice.
Reusing assets is common-place across a lot of industries. Example - most animated TV shows re-use the same animation scene over and over again, most games re-use the same body/head models/textures, design companies use the same assets in multiple designs, etc.
It's done to reduce costs and time involved in re-creating what effectively is the exact same thing they already have elsewhere.
I wouldn't say FFXIV has all completely original models and assets either - many of the enemies (including the models) can be found in previous FF games - some of the models are pretty much identical to their FFXI versions (just increased poly-counts and an improved texture).
I'm no game dev, but if I could get away with re-using stuff from a previous iteration of the game rather than having to build them entirely from scratch, I'd do so. I'd bet it saves on so much Dev time.
So serious response. I think this is true but it really depends on what's being presented in the game, and just how good the game itself is in general.
So there's nothing to really judge, because you can't really judge whether or not the reused materials are fitting(or are tweaked enough to be fitting) or if they're immersion breaking or anything like that. Also, if there's a lot of content in the game then it's worth it to have reused assets appearing at different points.
The game isn't even out yet so there's no way to actually judge any of that right now.
I don't think you understand what "reusing assets" means. All of these are new 'assets', because they were created for 16. They might be reusing some ideas or concepts though.
Nobuo Uematsu reused several melodies between FF's 6, 7, 8 and 9. (check out 7's The Nightmare Begins and compare it to the opening of 8's The Extreme)
Meanwhile 14 and 16's scores each feature Masayoshi Soken.
Liquid Flame debuted as an enemy in Final Fantasy 5, not 14, and is not the first enemy to be used across multiple games.
The first seven Final Fantasies all used the same font.
Churches and cathedrals exist.
Guys dont tell OP how Square reused assets in the first 3 FF games. Thatll really get him ticked
This just sounds like massive bait to me.
I guess it worked.
The real question to the OP is why does he keep wasting money buying new copies of FF to get around his forum bans. How many copies is this now? Seems likes money would be better spent elsewhere.
What I'm interested in knowing is what ChrisRedfield1 has to say about this
I heard OP left his wife because she reused assets, when she had twins.
