[POLL] Which new races would you like the most for FFXIV [2.0.]

Burmecians.

Then add a Mi'qote NPC somewhere saying something about a game of cat & mouse.

Overall i dont like Viera and i dont think they are, just like Miqote, in any way "exotic" or something like this.
Its more like your typically japanese cosplay bunny girl or cat girl.

The Burmecians and the Bangaa look more original.
But im more for a complete new race.

Even though I knew they'd never win I'm all for Bangaa. I love their colourful scales. And they even blindfold themselves just for the looks! Yes, they are that awesome.

I'll stick to my decision on the Viera, but after that I would really like to see The Ronso, I'm dying for a snow area in this game xD

How about we let them explore their own sense of creativity and see a new race?

Didn't the question refer to them as Beastmen? Therefore won't we not able to play as them?

If that's the case, I don't really care what we get - though if it does end up being viera, I hope to god they aggro because otherwise you're just gonna see people standing around them... seemingly AFK... for about 20 minutes...

I don't see how making a poll/suggestion that asks for more choices is going to prevent the dev team from exploring their own sense of creativity or creating a new race altogether. ^.^

I welcome any new race. If I had to pick one it would be either Viera type or Gira. :) If they put in both of those I would have a hard time choosing between the two though >.>

Except for the part where it clearly does.

The option for more "Viera-like" races wasn't selected because players wanted a race with the types of characteristics shared by Viera, but rather because people thought it meant getting Viera, which it doesn't.

Are you really just posting to get the last word in? Look at your choices: Specifically citing already existing races from various other entries in the series. There isn't a single one worded "like this if you'd like to see a /demonic/reptilian/winged/aquatic themed race". Sure, you could go the "well these are just ideas for further down the line and not necessarily me trying to sway the devs either which way"(and you would), but there's hardly any leeway here for creativity.

Not that they're going to pay attention to this thread anyway, but yeah.

If they can make mantras look something like this it would be so badass. Much more manlier than what we getting

You're arguing that by people making suggestions/polls on this forum themselves actually prevents the dev team from being creative. You need to demonstrate that, and you haven't.

There is nothing wrong whatsoever with people making suggestions; the problem is with demands, like what you're doing - demanding that such suggestions be ignored even when you don't know what the dev team is going to do. If you don't like the suggestion, of course the easiest way to do anything about it is to ignore it - many threads on these forums would be dead if those that didn't agree with the suggestions hadn't posted in it.

Ergo, just let the dev team decide what suggestions they want to take in and what they don't and don't keep a thread alive by inflating it if you don't like it.

P.S. Do yourself a favor and remember 2.0 is only happening because people actually came to the forums voicing their concern and that stuff.

Yeah, I was just saying since 2.0 is meant to bring in more customization options... and if there's a breast slider for females, I'd say there should be something along the lines of a muscle slider for males.

I voted for Burmecians too. I really enjoyed Burmecia and Cleyra in IX.

everybody always forgets about my fave race! And I honestly think they would fit into the lore very well as they are known to be scholarly and history-inclined in other FF titles.

The Yagudo were cool.

Just gonna point out we have Qiqirns; so I doubt Cleyrans/Burmecians will be a viable option, no need for 2 rat races.

Oh man Ronso, Bangaa and Burmecian are all close in my book. Viera are too much like miqo, i hope they are not added.

You seem to attack what someone else thinks is cool (namely Gria) stating that it would ruin the FFXIV immersion and that their opinion on what looks cool is tasteless. It would definitely not ruin the FFXIV immersion; it would ruin your immersion. The argument of immersion really has no point in being used for a fantasy game anyways. If it was, I could say that the existence of Guado in FFXIV would ruin the FFXIV immersion.

I also don't think the Gria's wings are devil/bat wings. The Gria seem to me more of FFTA2's take on the dragonkin race, so the wings are more likely to be dragon wings. Here are some reasons why I feel this way:
1. In anime, it is quite common for girls with devil/bat wings to also have a long, slender tail with an arrow at the end. The Gria have a short, thick tail without an arrow at the end.
2. The Gria's wings are not torn.
Before you say "But I don't see any scales", I'm just going to point out that most Bangaa models in FFTA2 don't show scales and look more like dogs with a long snout and 4 ears.

That's right! Gria are a draconian race. All female dragon girl power baby!!! Bat/debil wings.. Pft!!!

don't really know what they should add though. somehow seems like lizardmen would round out the roster of races but at the same time wouldn't fit

Choice 1- No thanks, while cool in FFX we already have a cat based race. NO MORE CATS (sorry to all cat lovers but as a dog lover living with three cats lovers who's cats all peed my last house to ruin I have no particular fondness for the little fuzz rodents)

Choice 2- Maybe... I am ok if the do or don't I really don't care.

Choice 3- YES PLEASE! I liked these guys in FFXII and was disappointed that none could join your party. Not sure if I would play as one but I would love to see them.

Choice 4-Won't happen. They are a part of the world lore and are meant to stay as just that. If there were lots of these guys then they wouldn't really fit the role they are meant to, especially when they are supposed to be above the ability of adventures.

Choice 5- NOOO Thanks. Even more so than choice 1. I think we already have enough "basically human" races in this game. I mean really Miqo'te and Lalafell are the only ones that really don't just feel like a human ripoff. Especially since this race could be created by anyone if given the right tattoos and hair in character creation

Choice 6- Out of all the races presented this is by far the one I hope to see the most. I have been waiting forever for a mmo (or just game in general) that gave me a good full mammalian beast race, that isn't a cat or an over muscled hulk. They are the most unique of the races presented as they don't share any kind of theme with any of the preexisting races and all together have a different feel to them that could bring great possibility for characters (both player and NPC) in the future.

I've wanted to play a Qiqirn since XI. I'd be down for playable Qiqirn; they're already in-world so no need for crazy retcons to explain their showing up, either.

Ronso were blue magic users, right? Might be a good way to introduce that job.
