Well thank Vanet that you do not decide who can or cannot play the game. None of us can actually, and thats a good thing! Gatekeeping is an ugly thing and should never be supported or propped up in gaming, or any fandom circle. So what if an Animal Crossing fan wants to play FFXIV? (News flash, they are already here aveyond. I AM ONE OF THEM.) People can have more then one genre interest, you know. Diversity is always a good thing.

As for the ad itself, its harmless. Bit cringy sure, but gets the point of this being an ‘epic’ adventure across well enough (I love the costumes… man I wish I was a cosplayer haha) I actually like how it dose advertise the crafting side of the game too (In the ads bellow what the OP posted.) Few games are as proud of it to show it off in an ad, so thats cool.

According to him the average person would choose to date magnai over yshtola. Which sounds like an excellent choice if your goal is to end up in an abusive relationship with a tyrant that cant handle rejection. I am very glad people called out their Signature it looks terrible...talk about the ad being offensive to them...but that sig reminds me or the wow adverts from Mr T etc when they show off their 'character' but in all seriousness the advert wasn't for me, there are plenty of youtube ads which better sell the game this in all sense of the word is harmless. It doesn't do anything harmful its just cheesy fun and let them be it will get some demographic to try it...because guess what the ones that really care will have already watched a million YouTubers 'my first few hours or my opinion of the free trial' videos by now to form a collective opinion if they want to try the game. I don't understand, yea its kinda cringe but it fits in with the current scope of marketing towards fantasy games in the US/Western part of the world, ads usually aren't for people that are currently playing the game.

I think these ads are just eh. They're not terrible, but I'd be lying if I said they were good. If I didn't know much about FFXIV, I wouldn't be convinced to play by one of them, but I wouldn't be turned off either. I just find myself indifferent to them.

Probably too self-absorbed in his fan fiction version of the game to see any form of complaint or open debate. I would have no qualms with the guy if he responded to every person who gave a valid comeback. Still, he clearly quotes and responds to those who support or cross his viewpoint because if you look he will usually be condescending or say their post or paragraph doesn't warrant a response because its not on his level of intelligence etc.

2) Guy who constantly hates on everything the game hates this.
3) Said guy complains about it not appealing to him, yet has an avatar designed to look like some kind of demon cosplay complains “omg so embarrassing”.
