Finally my fem Viera can wear the male Valentione waistcoat!
Yeah, this was basically me when I saw the picture:

"Why?" is a very, very good question. On the plus side, that fancy big ship mount is an MGP reward. I finally have a goal again! It's certainly not that elephant though. That's a big yikes from me.
Another patch without Rival Wings Roulette
Free camera for Legacy Type is one of the best improvements they've ever implemented. Took them long enough, but it's here at long last.
Finally. I still haven't memorized these.Quote:
The Aethernet map will now display when accessing an Aethernet shard in the Firmament.
Kind of gross. I like the portrait system, but doesn't this make it a little bit less opt in? Aside from the newer players who won't immediately have one, it's probably going to feel bad if you're the one person on your team without one.Quote:
Party members' instant portraits will now display at the start of the following duties:
Dungeons
Guildhests
Trials
Raid Dungeons
Alliance Raid Dungeons
Deep Dungeons
Variant & Criterion Dungeons
Soooooooo. We're really trashing commends at this point aren't we? I realize people don't really commend according to the in-game guidelines and they just sometimes do it based on character names, designed or whatever else that isn't tied to the performance of players or how they were treated but... we're really enabling this behavior?Quote:
It is now possible to display party members' instant portraits in the Player Commendation window.
I don't know how this is going to work but this could be really good for under level 50. Hopefully it could help with preventing people from jumping into level 30-40 dungeons with level 10-20 gear on.Quote:
NPC vendors that deal in items obtained from duties will now appear according to player progression.
I have no idea how this works normally, but is it just me or is it weird that an item used for upgrading crafting supplies is earned in exchange for a combat currency and not a crafting currency?Quote:
Dharmic rain can also be received from Rashti in exchange for Allagan tomestones of astronomy.
Bunny boys *-*Quote:
New hairstyle options have been added for Viera.
Everything else is okay I guess. I don't think IS is getting a new currency so I need to make sure I keep that running so I can buy whatever new additions they add immediately on day one.
Thankfully this was in the patch notes as well, which I missed initially.
And this applies to the commendation window as well.Quote:
The display of party member portraits can be toggled on and off by accessing UI Settings in the Character Configuration window, and checking or unchecking "Show party member portraits at the start of duty." under Instant Portraits in the General tab.

I've yet to see anyone use the Elephant mount. Honestly weird decision for a reskin. Maybe from Faux? They like to put reskins in there.
You're not buying an item to craft i620 gear. You're converting crafted i610 into i620.
They've had this system since Shadowbringers and they've already had this vendor in Endwalker with Classical Gear upgrades. You trade in the i610 versions of the crafted gear to gain Certificates. You trade Tomestones for Rain. Then the vendor sells the i620 upgraded versions for Certificates + Rain trade-ins.

This can't come soon enough.

It makes perfect sense, you're upgrading a piece that's Disciple of War/Magic gear, so it should use currencies that relate to Disciples of War/Magic activities - doesn't matter where the item originated, the only thing that matters is what Disciple it is oriented for. That, and it would make zero sense for it to use crafting currency when its intended to be a catch-up gearing mechanics for more casual players, people that may not necessarily have crafters, let alone any at 90 that can earn max level crafter currency.
Back on topic, some extremely nice QoL going on in this patch.
It would be nice to know if my main job is going to be worth playing after the 10th or should I invest in another MMO. This is where not having a test PTR really backfires on FF14.
"Options to disable the right-click targeting of certain types of targets have been added."
Best thing in the notes. Welcome to year 2000 when Western games already had this as standard
also its cool they made the chocobo stuff dyable but will they add the chocobo footwear for the costume
One thing that stood out to me was the Odin FATE nerf. The level scaling was one of the best parts of that, watching overconfident high level players just eating dirt, the sheer chaos and wailing agony. Seems a shame to have to force a fixed difficulty after all these years.
Personally I prefer to ponder the immortality of the crab.

Yes, I too read the whole note. And I'm going to disagree. This isn't "bringing him back down where he belongs." Where he "belongs," historically, is with a sliding difficulty. If players win, he gets stronger next time (to a point). If he wins, difficulty lowers.
Putting him to a fixed level 50 says "the downscaling mucked up our old scaling calculations, and we can't be bothered to correct them, so we're just going with the easy option of no more scaling."
Which, fair play, it'd be a chunk of work for largely deprecated content with few, if any, valuable rewards.
But it's still massively entertaining, showing up to your first Odin and seeing the fields of corpses. It remained one of the few exciting things to still happen in ARR zones.
I forgot about that one. I was thinking of this one but I like yours too.

I guess the elephant mount dashes all hopes I had for a flying carrot like rocket ship then :(
The elephant is probably from Unreal. They probably put it on the moon for contrast and throwing people off.
I could be very wrong, but my guess is that the elephant is going to be a reward for the new custom deliveries questline which is in Il Mheg. The coloring would kinda fit the place.
The new beast tribe doesn't come out this patch, so I'm thinking they wouldn't be previewing the reward already (at least I hope, DO NOT WANT THAT FUGLY ELE).
e: Ok, I reread the notes, and it seems it's NOT out of Il Mheg? Don't know where I got that idea. lol. So my new hope is that it's unreal as I don't touch that >>;
it's likely from Many other sources.
we have already seen the other possible and more likely tribe mount.
unless the ravey rabbits decide the rabbit robot propeller mount ain't too fluorescent for them.
they wont do another live letter for 6.35 though.
They let Male Roegadyn wear Dirndl and Songbird is a Christmas present for me :D
Does anyone know when will the full patch notes be released usually?
Is it during maintenance or before?
