Do it on DRK or something, below 70 their kit is actually garbage too. Doing it as healer is literally a test of patience

I don't mean to be rude but I'm really tired of the Allagan empire, I was hoping that with the events of Endwalker's MSQ they might have finally put it all to rest (especially after how they decided to write Amon but I digress). I'm sick of the aesthetic, and I would have much preferred them to make something Ronkan-themed if they had to go with the ancient empire route because at least it's something different. I get it, it was a very significant empire, but it's okay for it to not be related back to everything in the world.
Does this mean you're gonna be mad that the third raid tier is Pandemonium again? This is just how things go with the expansion cycles. We're not done with anything leading up to Endwalker's finale until 7.0 launches. Then all of this can be "put to rest." Until then, they're going to keep putting out content that would come out all at once if they opted for the traditional annual / biannual release of expansion content the older MMOs do.
I love Allagans tbh. If this Deep Dungeon means we get more Allagan/Magitek housing items I'm game :p
While the Eureka name had me interested the Allagan parts made go "Not another Crystal Tower related thing" as this is almost assuredly the Eureka Nero's scanner picked up at the end of the Crystal Tower series. I am just so sick of Crystal Tower stuff at this point but that may be the dominance of the raids in roulette talking.
Ronka would be cool, but until the narrative shifts back to the first I doubt we'll see any content focus on the first at all. For better or worse the Allagan theme fits the current theme of the MSQ as the Allagans had extensive dealings with the Void. So it would only make sense from a story perspective to turn to them for more insight on the Void.
Some like Deep Dungeons, some don't.
Some are intriqued by the Allagans. Some aren't.
SE isn't going to be able to please everyone with every piece of content.
As for SE only requiring level 50 of PotD while not requiring level 30 HoH for the Allagan connection, I suspect it's because the vast majority of players who enjoy Deep Dungeon have automatically dipped their toes into HoH at some point.
Thank you.
Okay. Will there be a separate post on the forum, where you're unhappy that the story and the new dungeon will partially take place in Garlemald, because we'll meet there again with the twins (again, those damn Scions). Or that the new Tribal Quests are associated with loporrits. Or that the new Unreal we'll be fighting the beautiful Sophia. Or that they're scoring a normal story and releasing a new Ultimate for those damn hardcore gamers. Well, you can also complain that Yoshi showed a jacket with Hydaelyn and Zodiark, and a jacket where Hydaelyn defeats Zodiark, but didn't show a jacket where Zodiark defeats Hydaelyn. Without any trolling, I just want to hear your opinion
Why is it that I feel like we have so much Allagan crap in this game and yet it feels like they've gone nowhere with them?
Eh. I'll do it once for the story, farm any rewards that interest me, then forget about it. Already capped my combat jobs and I'm too lazy to try running the whole place solo.
I definitely would have preferred the Lunar Subterrane from IV. All the floors, the bosses, the hidden paths; it lends itself really well to the idea of DD.
idk, personally i really love the allagan lore. im excited to see if theres more lore hidden. besides, you don't know what the higher floors look like. the bottom floors are always ugly, and then the higher floors turn out to be beautiful. im excited for this deep dungeon!
Some of the posts in here could be the dictionary definition of premature overreaction.
Just because it's located below the crystal tower doesn't mean there won't be significant variation in visuals and enemy variety between floor sets, you'd know prior ones already do this if you've ever set foot in the floors beyond the ones people spam for exp.
I have 3 issues with them going for Allagans tbh. But some of them, I think you guys can help answer.
1 - Is there anything else left to explore about Allagans? Like, what would this add that we don't already know?
2 - This is the 2nd Deep Dungeon to feature an Allagan background. And it too was tied to stuff we already knew. What else do we need to know about CT? Where Amon had his wardrobe? :I
3 - Why are we always defaulting to Allagan stuff? Like, I get they're THE world-spanning ancient civilization. But why not other stuff as well that's also quite ancient and mystical? It just feels like the Allagans had a foothold in everything, influencing virtually all that there was. Bozja? Allagan tech, even down to why Gunbreakers exist. Yanxia? Launch pad for Dalamud. Ruby Sea? HoH stopped the Calamity of Earth in the local area.
Shouldn't we explore the other stuff a bit more as well and give credit to the nations that came after? It seems like the only nations that ever mattered beyond them were the War of the Magi trio. The others just got stuck in a time bubble with "not much to explore past that".
Erm... are you the Among Us youtuber?
That said, maybe it is overreaction. I'm just exhasperated on having more Allagan stuff when there haven't been other things to explore about them. Even the new stuff we had is just filling in the blanks of stuff we already knew, like Amon on HoH. I'd like to explore a different period of the Allagan Empire if possible, and hope, if anything, that this DD can provide.
But I won't deny I'd prefer something other than the same old Technobabble Empire.
That's fine. And valid! DW too much about it, I'm gonna play through it anyway and get the enjoyment I get from it anyhow :p So it's all fine at the end of the day.
Um... no? The thing about Pandemonium is that it hasn't been revisited again and again and again and again since the game started. This quote sums it up very nicely:
Now, I'm not going to quit the game over this or anything. I'm going still going to run it and probably enjoy myself. Who knows, maybe they'll actually do something meaningful with the Allagans here. I just feel like there are plenty of other locations to base the new deep dungeon in that are more aesthetically (and narratively) pleasing.
It is more than last straw. It is when you are buy the cheesieburger combination meal and there is not the straw and you are take cuptop off to drink and it is spill. Story writer guild have been tell to the Yoshi to making the deep tower in the Garlemalding or the NoShadowGod land. But Yoshi is agree to disagree. Now course will not be corrected and Hildabrandt and Loprabbit is take over main qest story. Is so sad that must all play the older scroll game now to get the game of the throwns or heavensward storyline.Quote:

Personally I love Allagan lore, but I hope the floors will be more pleasing to the eyes than the average Azys Lla / Dalamud aesthetics we're very much used to.
Allagans and Ascians go hand in hand. As it was noted earlier, this is likely the loose end from CT that was bound to be tied up before we properly go off on our new adventures.
Yoshi was upset about delaying Endwalker's release, not the new dev cycle.
If you paid attention to the release schedule announcement, they get extra time off in December and at some point in the summer.
I am kind of hoping this ends up being like a final send-off for the Allagans because we've dealt with their business so many times throughout the prior expansions that it's starting to feel a little stale to me.
I already answered, but yeah that's perfectly fine. It's not all a matter of preference, some of it IS stuff I'd like an answer for, but ultimately it's just justifications that aren't needed.
If you like the content, don't justify it. It's fine. Know that it's valid.
Allagans, again?
I somehow expected it to be around Elpis styles Deep Dungeon, since they've got 2 big facilities with hugely changing and varied environments, Ktisis Hyperboreia and Pandaemonium. So we could have all element potential areas, along with maybe even Moon or the flying islands connected, at the later stages, to fulfill the mystery akin to PotD's 151+ floors.
But since we're dealing with Eureka here, I hope, we might get actual Eureka zone aesthetics once past the Allagan initial story floors? I would love to see some expanded Anemos, Pagos, Pryos, and Hydatos zone visuals. And even better yet, they could easily utilize all the more dangerous and special notorious Bosses from each zone, which have the usual fun instant death mechanics, more Ceto and Ying-Yang madness!
Eureka floor variations from all the different environments please, don't want the claustrophobic floors all through it all, which is exactly why 151+ PotD was so great, both in visual style and general open design, able to actually see things from far away, nothing worse than getting sneaked up upon by some huge patrolling Gozu, because of how they designed the floors 81+ in HoH.
Still would have liked some flying islands, and high mystery floors past a certain point, if they really stick to Eureka themed, I hope for laws of nature being flip flopped, and the visual style isn't anything like Allagan at all, for the most part. HoH already had plenty of Allagan weird lore, which fell flat on its face compared to PotD.
It all being 90 lvl kit though, will be hilarious for some jobs, unless they introduce some form of special actions.
It's likely this is the Eureka of legend the isles of Eureka were named for, which in all likelyhood makes it some manner of facility beneath the Crystal Tower so I'm not expecting much in the way of references in that regard.
One of the NPCs at the camp in Eureka Pyros talks about it, but it's just vaguely believed to be the same as its FF III counterpart: a labyrinth filled with ancient and powerful weapons.
On an unrelated note pertaining to the actual difficulty of the dungeon, the fact that enemies no longer crit in ShB onwards is really significant for solo runs because you can easily die from bad crit RNG in both PotD and HoH on the later floors.
@Midareyukki what other ancient civilization would you want to be explored? We keep on running into their tech and learning about them due to how well their stuff survived for over thousands of years. The three main nations of the Magi war have places you can still see and find remnants of. Any other great nation that doesn't exist anymore tend to not have much information about them that have survived since the era they existed in. Part of that is due to three old dudes who were bitter wrecking those places up. The other is due to how some of the ages played out. Like if how the rulers of an age didn't want the average person to know how to read and write or what little we know about the fourth Astral Era is from oral tradition. Who knows how accurate anything we know from that era is. Other places we could explore more about I feel they'll want to explore with variant dungeons if this first one is anything to go by.
I feel like they missed a golden opportunity with the location of this dungeon. Given the various FFIV throwbacks in Endwalker, what better place for the deep dungeon than the Lunar Subterrain?
Originally the dev team planned to make content during the CT raid series where you explore Eureka that was underneath the Crystal Tower. This (just like the entire CT story) is based off Eureka from FFIII where it was an optional endgame dungeon underneath the tower that housed ultimate weapons and the Ninja and Sage jobs.
That was why you had Nero get excited over the aetheric readings during that one cutscene, alluding to Eureka.
However they scrapped the idea and retooled it into the exploratory isle in Stormblood. This however seems theyre finally going back to that old idea and giving it fruition
I took a guess at Garlemald's subway train tracks, but eh
Guessing that this is what they wanted for Shadowbringers, but delayed it due to Covid. That was when Crystal Tower was made a requirement to run.
