I'm just happy that once in a blue moon...the entire community can all agree on a single point.
That point being Aveyond is a crybaby.

now that you mentioned i didn't realized it was him because of the aura, oh well putting on my ignore list now with that knot roe
and that was because of that, that every sub sequential relic is fairly more easy, just how bozja is better than Eureka.
but if you do excuse myself i'm saying in modern-day not ARR-era.
On content ARR relic was NOT easy. Hard Mode trials were the original tough content of the game and back in the day Titan HM was a tough wall to climb. Obviously the content got dwarfed by Extremes and gear tuning destroyed their difficulty over time, but back when they first came out, the first relic step was actually a bit of a hurdle to overcome.
Not to mention you needed to craft or source an at the time expensive weapon melded with materia for Gerolt to "use as a base".
The same usual Aveyond haters who just cant handle ignoring his posts, "yeah op is a crybaby" yet they absolutely HAVE to come in his threads and cry about them, that's the irony of things.
Ok sunshine, you can continue crying about him in every thread he makes, as if you are forced to do so, you just cant stay away from his threads, you HAVE to come in them and cry about them. It's a must for you, a mature person would just ignore the threads, but you have to go in them and cry about them.
New glam hat isnt wearable by vierra. A tragedy of lazy ass development.
It's the same few people who apparently live in the forum and will most definitely hit their limits in this thread for the next few days, who usually jump from thread to thread posting one-liners as if this were some sort of private personal chatroom about their day and their favorite foods (despite there being a designated off-topic thread) and anyone trying to give their opinion/suggestions is treated as a nuisance who needs to go away because it's getting in the way of their back-and-forth about what movie they saw yesterday. Did they already play through all of the vast amount of content released on this patch day of the game they supposedly adore and love with all their hearts?
At least they aren't bombarding an actual suggestion thread with "it's your fault" "this game is perfect as is, they can't change it because..." and "it's on you". Aveyond taking a hit for the team.
Aveyond Haters: Why does Aveyond complain about everything!?!
Also Aveyond Haters: *sees Aveyond thread* *receives irresistible urge to complain about Aveyond complaining in said thread*
Is anyone surprised he started a look at me I dislike the game thread after the patch. Would have been amazing not to see one. He's here to stir the pot and seek attention. Seriously anyone this unhappy with a game needs to go find something else to play.
Patch is cool. Expected first step of the relic to be easy just like with SHB. Don't worry the real grind is coming soon enough then we can listen to the how could they threads.
I personally have reservations about what they are going to make us do for relic given I am and was a big fan of Eureka and Bozja. The fact we have a tome vendor NPC does worries me a bit cause I really hope there is more to relic than collecting tomestones. I know I'm am going to miss the open world content but we'll see.
Some say, "Who you are is what you do." They're wrong, but not all wrong. What you do forms who you are. Then who you are forms what you do. It's a vicious cycle, or a virtuous one, depending. One act doesn't undo all of who you are, but a thousand acts make you who you are. So it's simple, though not easy: Stop creating the wrong you.
But come on...bait do be yummy sometimes. How can any of us resist?
Aveyond is correct and I agree with him, people resort to derisiveness because they disagree with somebody instead of demonstrating that good ole' "Great Community" is actually a thing. 4 months between patches is ridiculously long in my opinion, and it isn't some form of blasphemy to point that out. Reminder, XI gets monthly updates :^)
Mao has just started doing Hildebrant quests. They SUPER funny. Mao LIKES!
I mean I think there is a fair point here, this is a joke of a step to keep people around much like the first ShB step was. I had wanted an ARR/HW like first step and this ain't it.
Nobody wanted that. That's why they didn't start playing until more recently. Even some people from back then didn't care for it. Things have been getting more casual and tolerable with each expansion. As they keep repeating this process and add more jobs to the mix, it should get simpler.
Or, ya know, we're at work. I rarely if ever post on the forums in the evening once I'm home. Its just a time killer for me at work when I need a break from staring at network logs all day.
Pointing out his lunacy isn't crying lol. Most of his "haters" are just outright making fun of him.
Its 4 months between every MAJOR patch. The game gets content updates every few weeks between minor patches...Its like you all forget the patches that occur in between or something lol.
Hate is such a strong word, too. This person and their takes aren't all that special. Anyone at all could come spill some nonsense about a .x5 patch and it's gonna get a response. It's generally the same kind of content being released as well. It's not main story. That was already done in .x
As I alluded to before, the holidays are coming up, so it's usually a time for people to take time away from these games anyway. There's going to be less pressure to grind out whatever is released.
I came here for to scan other people's commentary :p The ridiculous expectations are one of the more entertaining parts of this forum.
Atma/crystal farming when it was new was punishment, not content. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks that fate farming for rare drops before the nerf was fun. Or filling out books or light farming after that.
There wasn’t much of a real story either, just “repeat all of this old content to fill out the overworld and have a reason for seasoned players to join queues for old dungeons”. Relic back then was just a mindless grind with nothing else substantial around it.
I love Fate farms, I did every zone unlock for the shop unlocks and am working towards the Bi-color gemstone rewards. I doubt they would even do EW as that would be far too rewarding for people like me to get Bi-color gemstones alongside it. I would love an SB fate farm step.
Tell me you haven't played during ARR or HW without telling me you haven't played during ARR or HW.
ARR: Keep in mind that this is entirely based on pre-2.1 experiences, it obviously got easier with the later patches.
- Chimera: Players felt the need to cheese the fight by pulling him out of the cave, because fighting him on a sloped area was rumoured to stop Dragon's Voice from hitting players.
- Amdapor Keep: Some parties actually had issues with the dps check on Demon Wall.
- Hydra: Tanks could die to Triumvirate, because it initially had to be shared between tanks. Fear Itself could become an issue if players decided to drop fire/ice puddles in the center. Adds could sometimes be an issue if they lived long enough to buff the boss.
- Ifrit HM: Groups at the time often wanted a caster LB2 or 3 for the nails.
- Garuda HM: You couldn't actually dps through the Suparna/Chirada buffs, and they had to be tanked away from Garuda.
- Titan HM: The fact that groups could make a decent amount of gil for boosting people through this fight should tell you enough about how tough this fight was for the average player at the time. And that's without mentioning the netcode issues.
HW: 12 fates? 6 if you are lucky? You needed 3 of each crystal back then. That's 18 in total. With a 10-20% drop rate.
SB: I'll give you this one. I forgot about the Antiquated version technically being considered the first step.
ShB: You obviously didn't need to enter Bozja to obtain the first Resistance weapon. The zone wasn't added until the 2nd step. The very first one was also free after doing the easy solo duty.
This makes it pretty clear that the initial two were nowhere near being "just as easy" as the more recent relic weapons.
TBH the first stage relics were always super trivial and the "grind" part of them was the process of upgrading them later.
I dont recall a single 1st step of the Relic Grind in this game being hard at all.
ARR and HW its probly had the longest 1st steps, but they wernt hard, and I dont consider them any better then past relics. And frankly, I like and can appreciate them not doing the Exact same thing each time, and making the gate of entry long and tedious.
Again, they're not even hard.
after doing 2 arr relics and several sb relics i never want to hear the phrase "light farm" otherwise i may just vomit blood
It's because the NA community has absolutely no say in content. This is a 100% JP community-driven game. Developers go there for any ideas, content, criticisms and other things that the NA Community would call a waste of time, a joke, etc. Culture completely drives the game content here, and if JP has a say, that's who they follow first and foremost. I am frankly surprised they have even taken any housing furnishing ideas from anyone NA.
one wonders if the OP has done ANY other relics. The first iteration has always been pretty much show up and get it.
its as you power it up that it becomes more of a chore. but hey, nothing wrong with putting the cart before the horse as usual I suppose....
Hold on couldn't you skip the entire 1st HW step by turning in your finished relic from ARR or am I misremembering? ShB gave you your first free for doing the quest as well.
Also the first step is always easy it seems. I dont mind as I like to get at least the 1st step for every class. Things are this way now because people complained years prior. Personally I think the quests n weapons themselves were done very well and people fears of them being all joke weps was put to rest.
Also to OP n ilk again I ask, how long will you continue to fund a game you don't like? You're paying to upset yourself
