[What if]there's new race, Yoshi-P changes his mind

Hey, more options are never bad, I say! At the end of the day, it's more realistic albeit given the devs' track record, not by a whole lot to expect more options be added to existing races than entirely new ones. But unless they sort out their funky code it might just have to be in the form of "new" races lmao, if stuff like the Midlander stubble, or Hrothgar hair or etc. is any indication

It needs to be a smol race. We only have one so far

I would love playable Ixali.

With an eye to something that wouldn't cause more excuses of issues due to unique skeletal rigs, i feel any more Hrothgar, lala, or Viera like (i don't honestly buy this as they only got ears additions), is just more trouble than they would be worth.

Couple this with plans to up scale existing models as soon as 7.0 (fingers crossed), & my hope is for Half Elezen.

Being something that is both simple to impalement & already existing in the canon of the in-games lore, taking advantage of adding more clans/ tribes to existing race options seems like the most easily to do, without breaking the proverbial bank, small indie company SE is...

Hrothgar & Viera(to a lesser extent), showed how poorly more unique models are handled, the best bet would be to offer more customization to what we have.

Aura horn & face separation rather than combinations, Scale color options/ customizations.
Miqo 'te more tail options, fur/hair color pattern options
Hyur Highlander eyebrows.
Separation of facial hair & face combinations, additions of facial hair options to all male characters of all races. (Elezen, Hyur, Roe, lala)
Sliders to change proportions/ aspects of race models. (with in reason as seen in those already implemented in game)

This..I really would like some large and small bushy beards for all races.

No more races please, especially not while ShB races have the problems they do. Wouldnt be too much effort to add a Garlean option for Hyurs though. I might even fantasia for that.

I'd be happy if they just added new sub-races with minor tweaks, like Au Ra with red scales. Or make Hyur-ezen available by slapping pointy ears onto the midlander model per how Hilda looks.

I'd like to see more options for existing races first, just to flesh out character creation a bit. For example, au ra horns are tied to face. What if this weren't a thing? We'd see more variety. Or, hell, disregard Au Ra. What about hroths and viera, like maybe let them put on a hat first lol.
That being said, a playable loporrit race would probably be popular as hell. I wouldn't personally want to see them all over the place, but I've heard people asking for it a lot.

If it was another kemonomimi trash like Miqo'te or Viera it could stay in the oven forever. Thanks. Either add another real beast race or nothing at all. Hell I'd even take a "cute" beast race akin to Loporrit over another "sexy human with animal ears/horns".

The funny thing is WoW has the exact opposite discourse.
They add new races in almost every expansion and they end up being fairly similar while they barely add classes and most players talk about how "they can't even get the ones in the game now right, why would they add more?"
While XIV has new classes in every expansion which are arguably also fairly similar while barely adding races to which most people say "they can't even get the ones in the game now right, why would they add more?"

Third clans would be the most reasonable outcome imo, considering even a literal human but with animal ears is too much to handle/code properly as far as gear, glamours and hairstyles are concerned. Might as well just stick with what we already have and keep polishing it.

That said, in a perfect world, all races would've gotten the Hyur treatment: Taller Xaela ladies, "Feol" Viera, more feral Miqo or humanoid Hroths, etc. I still don't get why Hyurs are a 2x1 race while everyone else is little more than recolored copy+paste models, makes the whole 'clan' thing rather redundant.

I assume the idea is that as the normal human race it wouldn't make sense to give them an unnatural palette swap like the others have, so they went with totally different models instead.
It's funny cause the extra workload resulted in Hyurs being the only race with only one gender option for the second clan in 1.0, outside of Miqo'te and Roegadyn which didn't have opposite genders at all.

I guess even the FFXIV devs thought humans are too damn boring lol. Doesn't absolve them of there being no female Highlanders originally, though

A plantlike race. The added upside is that an expression of their nonhuman roots can be achieved through skin patterns, hair and other things that wouldn't require having to attach something extra to the baseline model. Include a division of clans that roughly correspond to spring/summer and autumn/winter in terms of palette and perhaps based on whether they worship/scorn Sephirot, plop them in down in Mercyadia and volia, we have a race that technically previously existed now open for player applicants.

You may say it as a joke but Kul'tiran humans are literally the only reason I even considered playing BFA, and playing as Alliance to boot.

Next race will be the Meteions

The only cosmetic option is Meteion. There's many Meteions running around. You can't wear any different gear, but you can dye yourself. It applies the dye to the whole body.
There's rumors of a Golden Meteion, but nobody has seen her yet. All Meteions have flight unlocked in all zones right away. All Meteions get access to the new exclusive housing district in Elpis.
