Her. She's a woman. :P
She's one of the moderators/confirmed legit sources of SE info on GAF. And seeing how critical she can be about SE despite liking their games, this is quite good news to hear.

Only improvement I see is shadows.
All the textures are so bad now, and poly count looks greatly reduced, and look at the ground textures... wow. Serious graphical downgrade.
FFXIV is no longer the MMO with best graphics if these screenshots are indicative of what we can expect.
My first reaction to the screenshots was "whoa, nice graphics!" I don't have a beastly machine, but it holds its own. I'm not at all impressed with the current graphics of 14. So...I don't know what to tell the naysayers.
Why so negative? Be part of the turnaround, don't slow it down!
I have no doubt the graphics will be awesome, typical of FF, and the lag will be much much better. Can't wait for 2.0!
I guess it sucks to know that they're not running it at full setting, like they've already said they tend to not do with screenshots.
Even the Alpha screenshots were "full for Alpha", which only looked good due to AO, which remains bugged today.
Not making excuses for the screens like, but although the texture res is lower, the lighting is vastly upgraded. It's going to look sick in motion, where texture res will be less noticeable than a still. Also I don't think there's any AA on those screens, who here plays with no AA?
So he/she wrote something?
Looks like the screens are from a mid ranged PC, probably on par with PS3, I guess SE are trying to show what the game might look like on PS3.
Is only a guess though.
Lets not forget this is in development still so textures may be upgraded by the time beta is ready.
Actually I would even go as far as guessing the screenshots are from the ps3 version.
Or at the very least what Jinko said, because it seems to me these are definitely not at max settings.
Are we sure they didn't mistake the Final Fantasy Luminous tech demo for FFXIV...
I take it back....

That writer needs an editor...horrible spelling/grammar....
"The story of Final Fantasy XIV revolves around the city of Aorzia"
"Players will choose a faction to align with, fighting other factions along the way."
Well hes not well informed as well.
Everyone keep your eyes peeled for her write up! Soon please!
Yo that's not the same person as had the twitter feed the OP mentioned, just sayin'. She hasn't posted her impressions yet.
Didn't say it was the same...
I merely wanted to confirm that there was a real-time gameplay video Yoshida was showing the press.
Aorzia might actually be a new city for FFXIV...the article does mention 3 factions coming together and defending.
i think aorzia is actually not a city, but its the continent eorzea. And if the 3 factions were coming together to defend, why would they fight each other?
The guy who posted that clearly has no idea about what he's talking about. Enjoy the tidbits about chocobos, forget everything else ~
Waiting for more interviews and write up :D
I am intrigued by what he typed here "The first thing we noticed was the high degree of photorealism in the title. There are dynamic lights, shaders, shadows, natural foliage, and beautiful scenery."
I really do hope the foliage and surrounding environment gives off a lively vibe :/
I have the sneaky suspicion that what she thought was ffxiv 2.0 running in real time was actually just this:
http://www.agnisphilosophy.com/jp/index.html
Which is amazing. But it's not ffxiv. However, ffxiv is partially being made with the luminous engine, so we could potentially see something similar to this quality in our cutscenes.
you'd have to be an idiot to confuse agni's philosophy with ffxiv.
EDIT nvm... already been said.
I agree that to mistake agni's philosophy would be silly, but it could happen if you know nothing about ffxiv i suppose.
To be fair, it's clear the writer of that article couldn't tell a Lalafell from Llymlaen, so anything's possible.
That said, we know novacrystallis.com's writer actually saw the 2.0 client live, as did, presumably, many other people, so we'll be getting -some- good feedback and information today for sure.
Hey you guys don't know eorzeapedia will be interviewing yoshi today
here their twitter if you want to ask questions
