My guess is many of the people who hate the Viera have never played FFXII...

Don't much care what race they pick as long as there are plenty of options for all races to make themselves look as unique as possible. As far as Viera bring them on or not, but be wary if you have certain expectations.

For both the Race and Class/job questions anything supplied was an example. So both sides should try not to be butthurt when/if Its Viera, Freya or or something original.

Who knows, they may have had some cute race on the drawing board that would BLOW YOUR MIND, and if you knew about it you may have wanted race X even more then Viera.

The time to Vote on a specific race is when the survey us and say "Of these specific races, which do you want more?"

(I'll be reposting this in the next 100+ Pro/con Viera threads that will likely pop up soon ^^ Have a nice day.)

Honestly I don't mind whatever race they have. . . If I don't like it, I don't have to play it!

If they include viera (or fox-chicks, rat-chicks, or whatever), fine, just please add another two or so not-so-pretty races (reptilian, draconic, insectoid, whatever) to balance it out. Hell, even a ronso would be fine as long as they made it beastly. The problem is too many pretty/cute races already; hell, even the roegadyn have been toned down from galka in terms of roughness. Needless to say, I plan on changing my race at 2.0 if given the option. Sucks because I like the idea of dark elves, but I wouldn't have made one if I could have tested out emotes at character creation.

I don't get the hate for the OP on this one. They mentioned Viera as an example, they in no way confirmed that's what would get added if they did go for the mammalian beast man option. Op is just offering his opinion that, if they do introduce mammalian beast men PCs (also not actually confirmed) that they go with another option.

Off the top of my head there are

doesnt matter if it was only 50 or even 10 ther majority that took the time to vote did it. just let it go. Its like what most people think if it viera race ok whatever. but there a chance that he only used it as an example. thats all.

Honestly, it was a name drop, an example, and I highly doubt they're going to directly add any race from another game to this one. They might come up with something somewhat similar, but they're not going to just put FF12 races in this game.

But regarding Viera, she's just too elegant.

Maybe they'll release a version of the Succubus with bunny ears ;D

I'd hate to see Viera though because it would bring a change to the design of armor, and make it more sexualized, which this game has done a decent job of staying away from for the most part.
That's mainly what Viera are known for, and we would start seeing Castanic (Tera) type armor.

Armors are pretty much scaled and edited in minor ways, so don't say that it wont change anything.
Unless you want non-sexualized Viera who wear clothes like everyone else. That's cool, but then whats so special about them at that point if they aren't dressed exotically?

Technically if they went with a different tribes type thing as was one of the options; we could have Miqote with bunny tails and ears, and even Roegs with tails.

I'm not a big fan of them being in either, but I'm so sick of seeing all the complaints. If they're going to add them, there's nothing anyone can do about it other than not choose to play as one. Is it really going to kill it that much for you if someone else chooses to play as a bunny and you're forced to look at them?

Or Burmecians/Rat people. They're still demi human, and pretty cool looking. The only problem here is that we have two other rat-like beastman races in the game already. (If the kobolds are 'rat-like'....which I guess the kind of are.)

If you are refering to my E3 trailer thread. i wasn't trying to change anyone's mind... it's obviously a complaint thread. Nothing hidden in there. SE had made a public statement and my thread won't change that.

I know Viera is only an example but it is probably the main reason why the majority voted for it. And SE already asked the community's opinion on the subject. making a thread to complain because you were in the minority is just stupid.

I can bet anything Vieras will be the new race but they won' be named Viera and will be tweaked a bit like the races we got now are tweaked version of XI races.

There was overwhelming support for Viera ('bunny people'), so that's PROBABLY what they're going to add. At this point, there's no sense in fighting it. I'm a little disappointed, though.

We have humans, elves, giants (what can you even call them?), cat people, and tiny people. Bunny people would be incredibly similar to cat people in the grand scheme of things... not to mention, I really don't like Viera at all. I was hoping to see some sort of lizard or demonic race. I really wanted to see a race with the two small white horns (like the WHM NPC has... they actually have a name, but I forget what they are...) It's too late now, though. The people have spoken.
