This has always been how I look at spoilers: it’s not a spoiler without context.

But for some people, just mentioning the character model has green pixels on it is enough to qualify as a spoiler.

Considering how fast and loose XIV reuses character names from other games with the character in question being nothing like the original, I just don’t see how the name alone really qualifies as a spoiler.

A simple solution would be to put the word "Spoiler" in the title while hiding the name, and then stating whatever you want down below. This way nobody will complain.

Also, saying "Well the patch only takes a couple hours so it's no big deal, just do it" is just asinine and selfish. People have jobs, families and lives they need to attend to before games. For those curious but missed it, the side quest that become available in Radz-at-Han after completing 6.2 MSQ gives the FFXIV origins of the 2 defeated fiends (and strongly implies there will be additional quests in future patches with more fiend backstory).

The fiend story line will be. It's hard to say that the void storyline will be. We already know that patch 6.5 is going to set the stage for 7.0 with some sort of major event. Maybe it's the voidsent escaping into the Source after a failure to contain control over the portal.

She starts out the same pretty much. Then shifts hard into the XIV unique stuff. But that's what Yoshi P does. Success coasts with past ideas and turns them into something different.

I have an office job. Browsing the forums while staring at network logs isn't that hard for me...its a great time killer during patch updates as well. I'd imagine this is true for a lot of people that browse the forums during the work day.

Just a side note... I knew she was coming because of obvious Scarmiglione on the trailer, but I thought she wouldn't be seen so soon.

I got spoiled on her presence because when I opened the vendor to trade an Aglaia coin, her name was right there on the weapon menu lol.

Mentionning the character's name isn't a direct spoiler but it's very easy to draw conclusion, people aren't dumdum. If OP was "barking" at said name, they witnessed the character doing something while many only expected Scarmiglione.
A fun fact, SQEX once introduced a title at the end of HW, "Papalymo's Final Witness", which was a big spoiler at the time. Titles are visible by everyone, the title was quickly changed.

Exactly how much time do you think posting on a forum takes? Trying to imply they must have time just because they might visit a forum for a few minutes every now and then during the day is not the comeback you think it is.
