What a vicious circle argument you are making up yourselves. So they pay - then they get more decor that really is small, inconsequential to the bigger picture and frankly, such a small token of an apology it's really questionable to even make it worth it.

Regardless of if you were affected or not - you didn't win the lottery pick. Which means you weren't robbed of a house - you flat out didn't win.

I don't believe this is good logic either. They got the apology in the form of a literal apology AND a free house. Now we add the posters into the mix exclusive to them, what does this mean- they get to choose their apology reward. There is no vicious circle in this logic.... Furthermore as Skivvy points out, and others, this will likely be worth more due to the exclusive nature (we assume). So either a free house or potentially worth more than a free house in return gil and a house...?????

There is absolutely no circle here..

That is completely incorrect - I picked mine up the day of results from also being affected by the zero bug. You chose to wait, and regardless - you still didn't win the lottery. Waiting to win != collecting gil. It wasn't tied up at all, you could have collected it any time you wanted to and waited for an outcome whether or not you won the lottery. The winning number had already been selected.

Well I can't spend an apology letter, and that is completely irrelevant to the fact. We can only assume the worst with the decor, but there is still really no value there and they have to pay the gil for the house. So, they either have the house, or the decor to hang in said house. An assumption of what can be done with the decor and the 'value' (using that term so loosely here with that) is being pulled completely out of left field. I am hoping for one of two outcomes with that decor, but that doesn't mean it's coming true, does it? Just like placing value on something that is 'exclusive' - I agree should be given to anyone that wants it just like any other vendor fodder, or not at all then the exclusivity is moot. But my God, panties in a bunch of a virtual in game item that no one but SE 'owns' is just... maniacal. For all we know, they will be unique listed items that can't be used unless it's in the house that was given. Long shot, I am sure - we've already seen how limited the tech is with this game, so I wouldn't expect them to have it any differently than existing decor. But really, some people really need to calm down and take a breath.

I didn't choose to wait lol. I, along with the 9 other people who bid on the plot, could not see who won. The person who won literally couldn't have known they won until the 0 bug was fixed. So they literally were in the same situation as the rest of us except that they won the house and just couldn't claim it. Then they got to keep the house for free once the issue was corrected. So they literally either get the free house, or even more compensation by paying for the house at a later date. We still had to wait to see who won and who got to claim the plot. Not sure where you're getting mixed up in that. I don't really think it's a lot to ask that everyone who got hit with it also be able to get the posters, regardless of whether they won or not.

Ultimately, in a game full of gatekeepers and showoffs, in a genre where envy is a real driver for some, I am surprised the Devs added the bribe at all.

Most people had forgotten the "free house" and moved on.

I still think - as the bug letters indicated the data doesn't seem to be readily usable - it will be available to anyone, and also available indefinitely. That makes these posters pretty unattractive really.

You (theoretical, not sure if it's you, but general 'you'), get a free house. You don't spend the apology letter, what kind of statement is this? The free house is a substantial and significant apology to all but the most wealthy players. Particularly if it was for a large. Hot Thal man, a free large- even wealthy players would be like "Sign me up!". I'm positive there would be people asking for their house to be taken away for months so they could earn it back free lol..

Then the décor here being an additional option in case the free house wasn't enough? The people who want to spend a house worth of gil for a poster are the ones entitled? Seriously? To be clear I wouldn't buy these posters for 10k gil if they were going to be permanently available, not because I dislike them but because they've no interest to me. If they were limited I probably would but that's so I could resell them a few years later for astronomical sum... as I have done for other decorations (like a 2000 gil tree, sold it for 10 mil.. lol).

Then you come around talking about panty twisting, inconsequential, not worth making a stink about stuff.. Just... @_@;. To add to your statement, you can trade items in houses that are untrade-able by using the tenant system (although not all items).. so it is very possible that the posters could become greater value than the houses given time (if they were exclusive, of course).

Simply put, there is already an existing and tangible apology- it is, extremely imo, illogical to suggest SE needs to add another layer exclusive to these people who did get disadvantaged for some time. Or alternatively put in other words it's not some great entitlement or weird annoyance that someone who wants to be able to spend the funds is told they cant (hypothetically), and really if someone wants to spend 2 to 50 mil on a poster... a .. poster... ... xD..... then how in the world does that make them magically entitled.

Most entitled suggestion I've seen here is that the players who earned a free house also deserve to trade in that free house for an investment for even greater gil reward in the future. Again coming from someone who doesn't have any interest in them, I just think the logic being used to lock them up ranges from not very good to insulting and plainly inaccurate.

I still believe the most logical outcome of all this is Shibi's post though, and I imagine this thread is going to be all for naught in the end.

Because you actually don't have a point at all lmao. I'd love for you to tell me how the people who won the plots that got hit by the bug were affected any differently than the losers, especially the ones for plots that had multiple entries in it. They literally couldn't claim the house and no one had any idea who would win. Like yes we were told it was already determined, but if you had multiple entries no one had any indicator as to which number was picked since it didn't reflect correctly on our side.

Exclusive items annoy me, especially since they're exclusive for no reason. Did they play at a specific time? Did they accomplish anything? No, just total random luck, and now there's an item that I'll never have because I didn't get lucky.

Anyway, if these turn out to be exclusive to players like myself, which I kind of doubt for the reason above, then if you really want one, I can get one for you, as long as you pay for it (NPC price).

I'm going to guess though, that it'll be an NPC that allows anyone to purchase, how would they limit the item to just those of us who took the refund?

I say this, because, there is only three items, no doubt a default price set to the maximum of each of the three plot sizes, S-M-L etc
Maybe I'm wrong, and the NPC will know the exact price you paid for the plot?

So just in case anyone was curious, it appears the posters are available to everyone, regardless if you were the targeted "0" winner or not. They range from 3M - 50M. I am now the owner of a $3m poster that I didn't exactly want, but hey, for science! I'll have to see where I can shove this thing.

Oh, should add, the Lalafell is in the 3m bracket, the "I'm so sorry" Namazu starts at 16M, and the "Forgive Me" Namazu starts at 40M.

All housing items are, even if marked otherwise. Untradable items can be placed in FC housing storage, and anyone can remove them from that, not just the person who placed them there.

They're marked as untradeable / market prohibited, but you can still transfer them using a tenant/FC housing permissions. Doesn't look like they can be added to the FC chest, although I tested this after I had already placed it in my house.

Anyone can buy them even if they weren't part of the lottery error. If folks want to buy extras as a flex, they're easily able to.

If people want to complain about exclusivity etc, I'd like to counter that with everyone else in the game's history getting their house immediately upon purchase. How unfair was it that I had to wait to get my plot because of some screw-up on SE's part? I shouldn't have to pay for the plot and they never should have added the NPC to give me the chance to *VOLUNTARILY* pay the Gil. I actually had to be patient and empathetic, throughout the whole month-long process; how dare they? /s

How trite can we get? That's a rhetorical question, I know the answer.

For the people who went through the bug with me, this is a nice gesture of apology. For the people with more Gil than they know what to do with, they're bragging rights.

I disagree, they need to be priced as they are to accurately reflect the cost of the plot people bought. I don't want to have to pay ten times the amount my plot was selling for for no good reason other than salt on the forums.

No no I asked it due to how many people speculated on the forum of how ridiculously expensive those would be on second market thus rewarding 0 bug victims doubly. But not only everyone can get them (kinda obvious considering they had to resort to voluntarily returns) but you can't make gil out of them.

The speculation was there (I know I was one of those people), but that was only if they didn't make them available to everyone to purchase. So yeah, had they been tied only to those affected by the bug, the prices definitely would have skyrocketed as they can still be sold regardless of them being market prohibited. Thankfully that's not the case. \o/

It didn't turn out as bad as it looked like it was going to. Those posters are pricey though. Ouch. But we need more gil sinks, so I guess that works.

Why on earth would I spend millions on an ugly poster with no relevance as anyone can buy them? What they should have done is used the data they had for the winners of the 0 debacle and just had a plain poster with 'WANTED' at the top and a picture of a 0

Could be an addition to the sparse Azema Rose sales. Rather than an eternal bonded buying a rose for their GF when he's been out kanoodling in Limsa behind her back, he can splurge on some sorry posters.
