I'm really curious about just how absolute trash their servers are lol. I find it weird how they struggle so much with instanced areas.

I am slightly annoyed I can't just direct teleport to my island. I will deal, but having to hunt down the NPC to go every time will get old. I suffer from short term memory loss and could never remember how to get to Bozja.
A lot of great QoL stuff, nice to see some UI options coming in so soon, half expected them showing up till well into the end of the expansion.
You could use the Enclave's aetheryte to get to Bozja hub, hoping for something like that at the very least...
I don't have to use my own materia to meld someone else's gear. Why do I have to use my own dark matter to repair other player's gear? Sure, they can pay me, but that is an additional step in the transactional process.
Hmm. True. Perhaps the cost of the transaction should be automatic based on the cost of the dark matter. It's not too big of a deal, but it actually is pretty easy to eat through a bunch of dark matter just on your own merit, so it is a slight concern. Plus, I also feel kind of bad charging, and will likely more often than not waive it off.
I don't think the hardware is the issue, it's more likely that when they remade the game for ARR they had to cut a lot of corners to get the game out in time and it's coming back to bite them now. For example the way their database for items functions and the massive issues it is causing when it comes to inventory expansion and the glamour dresser.
Rest in pieces, shogun armor dream, killed by a random dragon from sohm ai.
I think 1.0's disaster (and multiplatform concern) may be the reason this dev team is overly cautious on performance.
And a lot on decisions (like glamour dresser space) seems to be because they refuse to budge on the many technical standards and limitation they put on themselves years ago.
I appreciate the fact that they are adding ears to the Hrothgar hairs that they recently added, but that shouldn't have had to happen in the first place. They've got a lot of trust to rebuild as far as I'm concerned. Basically saying "HERE'S YOUR EARS! HAPPY NOW?!" does absolutely nothing for me on that front. Hopefully they got the message this time and this is the start of improving Viera/Hrothgar, but I'm personally not going to hold my breath. That aside, the mount from CC looks neat. I've wanted a dragon mount like that for a while. Shame there's no new armor set from battle pass, but maybe they threw something into the Wolf Collar vendor. We'll have to see. Really digging the new gear sets as well, and Island Sanctuary looks better than I expected it to be. Overall, this patch looks great, but they've got a long way to go to earn my trust back.
Nice I love it, also please SE its time to remove genders in this game, I don't feel identified with my character being forced to be Female or Male.
Feels early drop for patch notes but I take it. Good toilet reading!
"HP restoration over time will no longer generate enmity with each tick of healing."
I get why, but at the same time...Why? Or is this going to be one of those moments where I feel like they are making our jobs easier to help people newer have less of an issue?
Fantastic to see they are ditching more gender-locking. Really feels like an antiquated aspect of customisation that hampers creativity.
Wondering as I do with every new patch what type of accessory the new flower will create. I've LOVED that the recent flowers have branched out from headgear into earrings and necklaces, especially as we have very limited options for lvl 1 gear-unrestricted glam options for right side items, and the duplicates cause glam dresser bloat. I'm going to guess it will be a second necklace, though a bracelet could be nice too.
"The tank, monk, samurai, and reaper modifier for damage taken has been changed from -20% to -30%.
The dragoon and ninja modifier for damage taken has been changed from -15% to -30%.
The physical ranged DPS, healer, black mage, and summoner modifier for damage taken has been changed from -10% to -15%.
The red mage modifier for damage taken has been changed from -10% to -15%."
Well, my interest in Rival Wings has gone right out the window.
I literally can't recall a single instance within the past year (since I started playing) where a regen during a trash pull caused issues with enmity.
I am curious whether this change will affect what the enmity table looks like in the typical trial or alliance raid. There have been more than a few times where I've wondered why the healers were so high up.
And?
Current hairstyles in FFXIV might have at most one variation that adds/removes the bangs. The point remains that we lack both longer hairstyles, and variations. Her other point was quality, and it is pretty clear that the Lost Ark hairstyles are superior in that regard.
Oh, I can. On average XIV tanks are garbage and grab mob packs with their AoE attack. For this case a regen usually isn't a big deal. If you were to pull properly - without planting your ass for full 3 seconds to grab mobs - stray regens quickly become an issue. I actually had to make a singie button macro to remove all possible regens just to deal that nuisances that insist on that 100% Medica II uptime.
Well, considering lost Ark is almost a decade newer, I would hope it would have higher quality textures.
And you kind of missed my point in regard to the image.
Aveyond was showing in image with near identical hairstyles, while complaining that we have too many variations of ponytails.
