Perhaps, but it's a normal consequence when a game developer puts a hard limit on how many players are allowed to participate in content. Players will look for signs that those with access aren't using it and ask for it to be taken away so others can have access.

This will continue to occur until size of the player base drops well below the number of houses or SE does something that fixes the supply issue.

I'm not policing anything, I'm pointing out one of the many reasons the housing system doesn't work. Especially in this situation where a personal FC is just wasting the plot.

There's probably another 50+ active FC that would put it to use and with more housing opened up for people who are actually playing game, it would be an easy win for SE.

FFXI is 20 years old and has a house per person. The houses contain 2 stories and a mog garden which is literally the island sanctuary. SE can't stop dropping the ball with XIV

This comment just confuses me. There are almost 100 plots in the Empyreum FC wards still available on Midgardsormr. Clearly there are no FCs in need of a house there.

The demand problem is for personal houses, not FC (with the possible normal exception of Balmung). Taking away houses from FCs doesn't help with that unless the house is in a ward reserved for personal houses. Taking away possibly unused houses from FCs will also only have a minimal impact. There are still more players who want a house than FCs that don't appear to be using theirs.

There's 26 small plots available, the last medium/larges to go up had 100+ bids, regardless you still acknowledge there's a problem with housing.

It's such a easy fix with multiple ways to approach it that it's mind boggling that anyone would even argue against it.

What server are you talking about? Midgardsormr over 3 times the number of available small houses you stated.

edit: I just tried looking at only plots 1-30 in the 9 Empyreum wards and ended up counting 28. I think you missed the tab for plots 31-60.

Seems to me that you aren't even trying to look. I went to Midgardsormr and counted the plots in Empyreum myself.

Mist, Goblet, Lavender Beds - full. I skipped Shirogane since I expected it to be the same. But Empyreum had plenty of houses in the FC wards, especially the subdivisions.

I wonder, Jojoya, if this person's problem is that of being picky. There seems to be a focus on distinguishing between smalls vs large and mediums. The FC I belong to made do with a small FC house for a long time and it worked for us quite nicely. Small houses are not bad for a starting FC.
