We have the Miqote we don't really need another anthropomorphic woman/animal hybrid race. More expansion on current races and clans or perhaps something unique to Eorzea.

Please no more animal girls. If we get a new race, I hope it's something along the lines of the Bangaa or the Seeq. Regardless of what kind of new race is added (assuming one is) I don't see why we can't also get more variation within the races.

Wish List:(basically, what I had hoped and voted for)

Races? Dragon-human Hybrid race and Rabbit-human race. (also, Miqo'te/Roegadyn : Male/Female, respectively)
Classes? Scout, Musketeer, and some kind of battle mage (not RDM).
Jobs? Thief/Ninja, Buccaneer/Corsair, and Dark-knight/Blue-mage.

As far as races, I am all for diversity in the choices (the more the merrier); a rabbit hybrid race would be cool, but I really would like to see something with some scales, to balance out the abundance of fur. Nothing to drastic, though... If they varied to much from human-like it wouldn't make sense (to me) that they mingle with the other human-like races instead of the more beast-like races. But, meh... It's whatever. :o

Since Zaaku hasn't chimed: Roeg tails... (They are too human-like without them)

For the love of the Twelve, NO Red-Mage... We don't need an overpowered cry-factory. The job would be too broken (imho) with the system as it exists and people would just whine about how it isn't strong enough, because of there IDEA of RDM instead of what a BALANCED job in this game really is. :rolleyes:

Side-step-to-topic: PLD is still missing the mark. I would prefer more work on making PLD legit, over adding new classes and jobs.

Either way, I'm pumped for the rest of the results... And not to mention 4 months-ish to 2.0! Any new news helps to flesh out what Yoshi-P has got in store for us... I, for one, am geeked! :D

Not like we can ask them to make a Final Fantasy MMO based on Ivalice. I love how spiritual the Vierra are and how much more they are with nature than the miqote.

Its not even that I have anything against Viera personally or Bangaa's for that matter. Its just I feel there is a huge difference between having staples of FF in the game (like the jobs, chocobos, and airships that are in every game), and having gimmicks thrown in in an attempt to curry favor with a player base you grossly dissapointed with your poor game release. Adding Viera or any of the races that are staple races from other FF worlds seems like a gimmick to me. I understand thats a bit hippocritical given that we all play races from FFXI, but that ship has sailed and I can't do much about it. It just feels like it would be side show parlor tricks to add a popular race from one world to another that has nothing to do with it. Much like gunblades and materia. But your right, can't control it, the majority will win, I just don't have to like it ;p

even if people didn't care which one, they probably just picked viera because of familiarity

if they do add viera i'd hope they look a good deal different from how they do in FFXII, or else it'll just seem strange seeing a piece of ivalice canon in the XI/XIV aesthetic

This forum is cute. It's delicious. It should almost be put under scientific inquiry as to how people behave on it, but I suppose it's the same as most other forums.

People choose options for what they wish on the poll which they have any right to do so, and others with other opinions after seeing different ones being posted begin to not discuss the opinions but rather outright insult them or make snarky comments towards people under that category. Then they proceed to go on a rant about why their opinion is somehow better for the game (lol).

Let's look at facts, shall we? Whatever the most popular option is is just that, the most popular option. The option that will most likely make Square-Enix more money, and the option that will most likely prolong the life of the game. Whether that is because of reason A, reason B, or reason C, that doesn't matter. In the end, none of what any of you say will matter, because the developers will go with the most popular vote.

Not if they're smart. If the most popular vote completely clashes with the theme, style, or direction of the game then they have absolutely no obligation (and should be discouraged) to follow the most popular opinion on a loaded question.

JUST BECAUSE the question mentioned "Viera" does not mean "Oh that MUST MEAN they're planning on adding VIERA OMG!!1!" They're using Viera as an example for "Mammalian demi-beastmen" by using an example (other than Miqo'te) that people are already familiar with.

Seriously, if the devs listened to all the most popular player suggestions without any executive decisions coming from within the dev team then this game will be crap because frankly ALL OF YOU PEOPLE making retarded suggestions on these forums have LITERALLY ZERO game design sense at all and think that YOUR suggestion is the way it should be and that the game will be UTTERLY RUINED without it.

If it clashed with the theme of the game, it wouldn't of been made an option. They don't just randomly come up with ideas to add to the poll, these are all ideas which were already conceptualized in development in some way or another and they have to choose which one to go with, so they consult with the community. They are not going to add concepts that will ultimately hurt the game. The rest of the questions are a matter of opinion about systems already in place.

Not really, Eorzea is one land and these races are the ones who live on it. We have no idea how the other continents work so if bunny people live in a secluded part of a continent they can easily introduce it. Plus they have Dalamud coming down which is pretty much a "deus ex machina" that can explain anything happening to 14. How come 1.0 is going to look so different from 2.0, Dalamud. Why do bunny people now have a settlement in Eorzea, Dalamud. Where did jobs come from and how come these crystals allow us to call upon these jobs, Dalamud. Dalamud is the answer to everything lol.

Dalamud is the manifestation of the creative minds of the developers as well as the input from the players themselves. it's crashing down on Eorzea and spreading itself all over to turn the game into 2.0. As Dalamud draws closer and closer to Eorzea we are seeing the game shape through the input we've given while sure not everyone's opinion is taken it's clear that they are listening and doing their best to introduce content everyone can enjoy.

But ya I think this is just one way to think of it, you can't say that something can't fit into the world, because technically jobs shouldn't fit into this world but they're hear now lol. Dalamud is going to shape the rules/lores of the land and pretty much make anything possible as long as the desire for it is there.

There are, in fact, males. They just live separate from the females for god knows what social reason. Of course, the game gives a vast emphasis on just the gals but by no means signify they don't exist. Hell i'd point you the in-game mention but I do not have my PS2 in the same state as I am right now.

Same way you're calling them all-female you really should call bangaa all-male because I dare you to figure out which of Ba'Gamnan's siblings is a girl.

I'd just like to point out that even though roughly 27% of the poll respondents voted for mammalian demi-beastmen (important note: the poll option was not Viera like people seem to be assuming), the other 73% did not. I'm holding on to the faith that the dev. team looks at all angles of the poll results, not just the fan interpretation of the poll results. ^^

Just because they used Viera as an example of what a Mammalian demi-beastmen race is, does not mean they plan to tear into a completely separate cannon, copy and paste it to a completely separate world. I can't see that happening.

I for one want to see the Viera living in Eorzea, I think they would be a perfect fit to the XIV universe and I want them as sexy as they can possibly be. I want them to look just like Fran in FFXII, from her long claw fingernails to her stiletto feet, I want it all... and after all, the Viera lore plainly states that because of the shape of their feet, they have to be stiletto in design for them to be able to walk upright! I don't see why a female character can't be powerful, proud, and a bombshell all at the same time... and by the way, I'm female in real life, not some hot blooded, drooling, teenage boy... lol
