People are confusing server tick issues, or misunderstanding abilities, or spreading rumors about hacks that they haven't experienced. There have been scattered videos from streamers showing speed hacks and HP hacks, however, there's no feasible way that the people doing this are keeping you out of gold. It's been frequently the same few people who were doing it in the feast over the past few years. Hacks are not as widespread as people are claiming.
In addition to the very rare full on speed/HP hack, there are addons that more people have access to that time or trigger abilities based on other events or situations in game (such as an addon that will trigger a MCH LB on a player that has low enough HP to be KO'd). These can trigger all kinds of things similar to user macros, however they don't do anything that a good player isn't already doing, and like other scripts that don't have extensive community testing, can be buggy and do funny things like fail because of LoS.
More predominant are people using multiple accounts to pad games. They use their account they are ranking up along with accounts they are attempting to get queued into matches with, where they can then manipulate the outcome by farming their plant. This has worked for a very specific few people in the past on Crystal DC. If this were happening to you you would see team members with ridiculously low numbers, sometimes zeros, or where they were obviously AFK running into a wall.
This is just a really dramatic post with no evidence of anything. the LM codes were just generic codes for account suspensions and people openly discussed them on FFXIAH, BlueGartr, official forums etc and it was wide varieties of violations to terms. You can still find forum posts from 2009 where people made a phone call and got their account turned back on.
Also gonna need the link to your vod with the timestamps of the cheaters.
The entire point of ranking up four different characters using four different jobs was to show that it's not a matter of luck.
I do have a lot of time on my hands, but that's not really a factor. Ranking Iyrnwaen from Unranked to Crystal took ~90 matches.
That's less than 8 hours of game time. I think most people have at least 8 hours on their hands.
JFC...
If you ever get tired of all the whining and self-pity, check out Inuakurei's thread on ranking up as BLM.
He posted a bunch of great tips that might really help you, since that's the job you'd prefer to be playing.
The game is going to be dramatically more enjoyable for you if you acknowledge that you have a ton of room for improvement instead of going into every match thinking you're doing everything right and you're just drowning in a cesspool of cheaters and trolls.
One of the fundamental things the scripts people are using do is ignore OGCD/animation delays so they can ensure abilities go off exactly when they need them to, which is partly why they're able to do things like interrupt LBs consistently regardless of whether or not they're actively engaged with other players or dump every single OGCD they have on you in the span of a single GCD.
The point that's it's not common still stands, but it's really noticeable when there is somebody using them.
I'm sure some people are modifying noclippy or xivalexander in order to bypass a a couple hundred mms, but I'm extremely doubtful of a script being able to consistently interrupt LB casts. And even using noclippy or xivalexander shouldn't allow you to put your whole kit out in a single GCD.
I'm not telling you to take responsibility for proving this is happening, but I'd really like to see some video proof of this happening. I already saw the video of the the speed/HP hack, so I'm sure it's possible.
It's mostly people digging around in the dark corners of the internet and actually finding the add-ons that are being used that's made them aware of what they can do.
There's been a couple of Youtubers who detailed the kinds of things you can expect to see from automated scripts going off of the actual patch notes/feature listings from those add-ons, but it's kind of a slippery slope as to whether it's a net positive/negative to be raising awareness of the matter, as if it's known the moderation isn't taking the more subtle forms of cheating seriously it's liable to convince more people to try them out.
every video showing any information about it is just showing the same screenshot from Arthars tweet, which is the champion addon stuff. I would love to see someone's video of it in action. I feel like with the amount of people complaining about it someone would have a recording of it. Youtubers are making videos off the information from that discord and its funny that people are paying for this; but without some sort of proof I'm not convinced this is keeping people out of gold.
Even if it works perfectly, lets say, the MCH auto LB. By accident LoS, use of guard for other reasons, unforseen heals/shields, this script would sit on a fast charging LB, ignoring other optional uses. Or, if it's programmed to take risks on weakened targets depending on ping and possible targets, it's no more dangerous that a player randomly deciding to pop it off on someone they think might be KO-able.
It's scummy, and I won't discount that these addons are cheating, but I don't think it's as widespread as everyone is making it out to be.
This has been my overall feeling. I'm sure these scripts are real and that some people are using them,
but the sort of effects folks are talking about sound like things that would be detrimental as often as not.
Like, cool, the script used your MCH ult for you based on someone's HP, but some other factor interfered so it's wasted.
Or the person dies but it was the last person on their team retreating from a rout, so you just helped him respawn with his team and your ult is down for the next teamfight.
Maybe your auto-polymorph script shuts down a DRG ult that wasn't going to kill anyone anyway and now it's down when the SAM pops Chiten.
Quazii's video talked about scripts that automatically use your gap closers. Why on earth would you EVER want that?
This seems less like the auto-win toolkit it's made out to be, and more like an awkward crutch that feels like it's helping,
but in reality is building a dependence that prevents you from growing beyond its limitations.
My feelings exactly. There have been like two or three videos of obvious speed/hp hacks but that's not widespread. That's the same dude that has been doing it since the Feast in like 2019. These PvP addons will work about as good as the WoW addons, or about as good as the PvE addons. Which is to say, if you know exactly what you're doing with them and how they work, you can make some neat custom triggers, but if you're trying to use them as a win button you're just going mess them up. Not to mention they cost money from the provider lol. I'm more worried about the people using multiple accounts to sell boosts on overgear interfering with my rank than someone using one of these addons.
I never cheat in CC all skills :D up to 141 wins. WIth that said Garo mounts + competive matches= people who suck at pvp trying to shortcut same as housing people who abuse it with botting people are lazy decide cheating or botting is easier than hard work for it... at least thats the way i see it.
Must be this: https://i.imgur.com/2LhDI7F.png
The moment I stepped into the revamped PvP, I made it a note to mess with every job's kit/rotation for a good while so I'd know precisely what manners of shenanigans they'd all be capable of getting up to.
I wish to god more people would do this. Healers in particular.
It's astonishing to me how many players I still see in matches clearly, visibly playing DPS like they're somehow going to be spam-healed.
Folks, I'm begging you, play at least one healer for a few matches in casual. That's not what they do now.
AST and WHM can deliver a clutch heal here and there, but you should consider yourself 100% responsible for your own survival at all times.
I don't know about cheating, I've never seen it that I'm aware of (not to say it doesn't exist), but I do wish the rules on how to get victory were more clear to players who are new to CC. I see so many people actively avoiding the crystal like it smells funny, or players who avoid everything just to try to camp the opposing team's spawn, and then they are stuck wondering why they lost.
Indeed, above. I heal on my WHM, but, corners people, corners...they are the true killers...
Yes they are. I don't think Bard should out dps a drg or sam but Bard bring nothing but a 5-15%(with lb) damage increase. In high sight that does nothing to half the jobs as they already can kill in a combo. Brd have a silent and bind that you bring too but when it last 2sec so.. Not that useful.
Oh. Uh. Cheaters bad. I agree
Climbed from season level 20 ->21 with one of my alts today on Chaos by Casual matchmaking.
Came across few unbelievably instant counter LBs were flying even among those few matches my daily grind took.
What's the motive to maybe cheat in casual matches like that, makes no sense I think.
Been running into a cheat in Casual Matches of all things that's speed hacking, wall hacking, and immune to CC. Alokococ Alokopop is totally not their name backwards. I wouldn't name the person after all.
