it's not him found out he is born in 1967 (you look young for your age yoshi-p :p )

If I were him, I'd be a little frightened of the amount of research some people are doing about him...

When Yoshi-P was in high school, what kind of job did he originally want to do?

He wanted to be a writer. Which could mean; Manga, novels, scenario stories, etc...

I will guess he wanted to be a chef.

I'll go with writer, too, based on his response in that one interview.

From all the interviews and Letters from teh Producers I quickly skimmed through, this was the only solid answer I could come to for this very challenging question.

From first glance, it seems Yoshi P. wanted to become a scenario writer for video games from the beginning. So it seems from what I researched.

I would've imagined him wanting to be an engineer or architect. (reasons i think that are tl;dr)

I would say he wanted to be something that could challenge his artistic gifts... it takes great self-inspiration in order to invent a world.
