How would you like the Scions to be used after 6.0? [EW spoilers]

I'd rather have ARR or HW Thancred back. As someone on Reddit said, he went from daddy to dad and his interest as a character tanked (at least for me). This is the problem with having made his identity so wrapped up in Minfilia where you have to ask what his motivation is now. None of the other characters who've lost someone are in that position.

He was still wrapped up in Minfilia in HW though. He just didn't have a pseudo-copy of her tagging along at his side. If you're meaning he toned down his rambunctious behaviors, luck trying to out drink Moenbryda and being a ladies' man, well yeah. One, to be a good example to Ryne, and two, he's getting older. When you get older, the years catch up with you, and you start caring less and less for frivolous pursuits such as that.

As far as his motivations go... Uhm, he told us his new ones outright a time or two. "Once this is all over, if I live through it, I'm going to go adventuring wherever strikes my fancy." It's literally the same as the Warrior of Light's. It's also the main plot and motivation for the characters in the RPG Grandia, so I don't see it as a hollow one, nor a meaningless one. Easy to fill in for the writers' one? You betcha! His motivation has turned from espionage and lust to comradery and wanderlust. /shrug I think he's great.

I'm remembering the old path companion system, and wonder if they could do something like that going forward, where you pick your one companion (or three) and they tag along with you like they're just supposed to be there. Probably couldn't do anything drastic to the plot, and we'd still probably need the others at certain points, but it would add a ton of replay value to NG+.

He wasn't as insufferable about it yet, partially because for half of it he thought she was still alive somewhere.

I don't care about him returning to being a playboy, just not a miserable mess over Minfilia all the time.

I said Thancred used to be one of my favorites and could be again if they'd write him as not being indefinitely obsessed with and brooding over Minfilia. Maybe this was meant as a broad comment to everyone who's expressed dislike towards his character, but I said he's welcome back any time as long as he leaves his Minfilia baggage at the door. :P I love Thancred, but I hated Minfilia and what her character did to his character development. Hopefully he's going to be his own man again and not looking to adopt more surrogate Minfilias too.

Thancred doesn't really brood over Minfillia at all in EW though. Yeah he mentions her occasionally and makes it clear making sure her sacrifice for the Star and the First wasn't in vain but he isnt wallowing in angst about it.

Unless your calling Ryne Minifillia, but then the exact same thing applies, he is motivated to make sure she can live her life and protect her world, but he isn't acting particularly dour about it at all.

Actually between the first trip to Thavnir and putting up with the Bunnies on the Moon EW has the most Thancred hijinks since ARR.

Daughters

I would prefer if the scions did what they said they would do. Frig off and only offer help when called. If we go to Thavnair for something and Its something Estinian might have some way to assist, sure lets ask! but otherwise we don't need to write them into everything. Some of them really need real character growth instead of a change of clothes and or class every xpac.
I wouldn't even be upset if they went back to being background characters that occasionally help out like Alisea was in coil.

I’d be fine with any of them joining in and leaving in smaller groups instead of as a larger whole. Leaves room for new characters while still keeping us invested, to a degree, in the older cast. Having them pop in and out for small adventures would be fine by me.

I think thats pretty clearly the plan for them. Have them tag in for specific adventures. (An expansion or patch where we work with Shtola and Thacred on traveling the rift to get back to the First for example).

I imagine we will see them as a full team again, but not for years, like I can totally see part of the ending of "Season 2" being to team up with both the new friends we make in the coming years and the reassembled Scions together.

I'd like to see all of the main Scion characters and G'raha since he was significant in ShB have a wrap-up arc during the 7.X cycle then be put to pasture. Since Krile didn't have much of an active role in events and she's been established as a solid source of information, she could/should continue in that role.

After visiting her post-MSQ I'm getting the impression that the Commissions she's talking about are going to be the lead-ins for story beats for at least the remainder of the 7.X cycle and likely into the next expansion as well.

I honestly, truly, fervently wish they'll put all the current characters, sans Krile, out to pasture with perhaps a short fan service cameo, but nothing of significance. They've had their time and it's time to build new characters for the new main story.

Strongly believe the "Students of Baeldesion" (I butchered it, meh.) will be the focus going forward. Krile and Graha most likely our traveling companions with some new, or not so new characters.

It's what I loved about Heavensward with Ysayle and Estinien, while it took a few more expansions for the latter to become a Scion/Trust. It made the journey more interesting and gave them some huge character developments.

As much as I would like the NPCs from certain job quests maybe some new characters is in order. Like a DRK.

Not sure what Yoshi wants to do with Thancred though... I feel he, Y'shtola and Urianger need a bit of a break.

By necessity, they'll probably have to be around to provide us with trusts for the MSQ dungeons, but I'm hoping we get some side NPCs (Like Livia or Jullus for whatever Garlemald shenanigans go down) as alternatives rather then always having enough Scions present to cover all of the roles.

Dissapointing to hear about Krile being in the story going forward. Honestly, I can't take the midget characters seriously with their little waddle. I do think it will be nice to get a set of new faces to work with. However, I would like Graha Tia and Estinien to come with us since they basically just joined our group recently, and Graha's wish in dynamis land was to go adventuring with us.

I want a break from them. I would like for them all to go off on their own and do their own thing. While we go do our wandering thing and explore our world and meet a group of new npc friends. Maybe we hear some news here and there about how the scions are doing, meet up with them later in another expansion down the road.
