Level alt jobs. Switch back when the queue pops.
When leveling DPS classes, you're better off doing Palace of the Dead (up to level 60), Heaven on High (up to 70), and Bozja fates (up to 80). As of right now, a queue for Palace take only a few seconds or a min or two to get a run going since you don't need healers or tanks for it. I'm at level 35 ish on my DPS and it you get about 3/4 of a level for doing a run on floors 51-60 (which is the floors everyone levels at since you can reset your run and start at 51 with a full level 60 character). When you get to Heaven on High you do floors 31-40.
It's much faster to level this way than trying to queue for normal content.
The Journal in the INN room or my fc room or apartment.. gotta memorize those cutscenes some how =P
watch a youtube video or something while I queue.
I don't play DPS in Roulettes, that's my Main/PF/group Job. I leveled Tank/Healer specifically to cut straight through the Queue.
Watch youtube.
I guess my answer is, I don't queue. I haven't done roulettes in months. I can't be bothered to do them as there are so many other ways to exp and gain other items at the same time.
I sit at the computer to babysit my queue and knit, crochet, spin, tat (lace making) or weave. LMAO
Roulettes..
Frontlines is fast and good exp.
Alliance raid pretty fast queues(sometimes) have ok exp but you can get some materia so the $$ is nice.s
50/60/70/80 Dungeons and Trails can be fast if you have unlocked em all but exp isn't worth it sometimes.
If you want to grind without queues.
PoTD/HoH is decent to 71
Then Bozja to 90
My personal choice...
70->80 Roulettes and do something else youtube or w/e
80->90 When I have rested exp queue the dungeons you have 80+ (not the roulettes) then spam fates while I queue. At like 83 I was getting 5min queue and solid exp.
If I'm leveling a dps, I'm not just leveling a dps. I'm always doing other things in the game while waiting for the queue, like working on one of the crafting jobs, doing glam stuff, doing market stuff, etc. If the queues were the only thing in the game I had to focus I would have probably given up months ago and I just started early last year. It's one of the reasons I'm so glad we can do everything on one character.
