Because there were several patches between the end of the Stormblood expansion credits that added additional main scenario quests that must be completed before you get to the Shadowbringers main scenario quests.

You know, just like there were between the ARR credits and Heavensward.

Just like there were between the Heavensward credits and Stormblood.

When the content you're working now came out the cap was 70, so you'd have definitely been 70 if you were playing it when it came out. But now one can quite easily be a higher level when they reach there, because you're playing years later. You'd have this same experience in pretty much any other MMO that you picked up years later as well.

Alas many get fixated on hitting max level because they *had* to do that in other games before they thought real content started. This game is different insofar as you have to work through the main story quest - indeed it is pointed out to you in the introductory zone you start off in. If you have not worked through the MSQ but somehow managed to over levelled then you simply have to work through the MSQ. No amount of complaining about being in areas much lower than you will change that simple fact.

I think I’m gonna not do everything why because I can guess what I made another single 1 to 40 in 1 day zero quest got love it lol

Then this is probably the wrong game for you as you get little exp from killing things and a lot more from doing the quests. Sure you can power through levels in no time but anyone can do that.

This is a story game. If you wanna get into the "end"game just through purely killing mobs, play Ragnarok Online.

If you really want to you can level your classes through pvp. It'll take a while but it's possible. Unless you mean open world pvp then no.
Additionally this won't solve your issue. Your main story quest progress will still limit you in what you can do. So there is no getting around doing that. Except buying a story skip potion but that will only get you to skip up until Endwalker. You'd then still need to manually finish all the Endwalker main story quests.

ok two things.
1) This isnt your typical MMO so how fast you can reach max level doesnt count for a damn
2) your over leveled to all hell.

To actually get to what ever content you think your entitled to be be in, you have to first complete the Main Scenario Quest(MSQ) up to that point before you can play it. You keep touting that your should be in Shadowbringers but have you completed A Realm Reborn, Heavernsward or Stormblood? If the answer to any of these is no, stop wining and enjoy the story; or you know pay for a story skip *Shrug*.

I know I sound a bit of a dick but thats the way it is. Chill the hell out man, its an MMO with a great plot; just continue with it and you will eventually reach Shadowbringers.

p.s This isnt WOW and never will be so stop acting like it should be

It's difficult to know. When I last looked at his lodestone:

He has the Yol, and he has Midgardsormr as mounts.
He has the Choco and Black Choco.
He doesn't have the magitech reaper or the manacutter.
He has Augmented Scaevan right side.
He has crafted 515 on the left plus 2 x Neo Ishgardian.
No materia at all, but he does have dyes.
He is corporal GC rank.
His minions looked filled out, and quite a few extra.

It's possible he skipped ARR to SB then used the platinum sacks to buy crafted and levelled to ShB.

hmm, jumps on my skip char to look at mounts.... (ugh 582 queue in Carbuncle).
A char/story skip to 80 gives the mounts: Black Choco, Magitech, Yol, Manacutter, Midgardsormr
Maybe he didn't learn the two keys for the missing mount
But the skip to 80 also gives Augmented Cryptlurkers. So he hasn't done that!

If he has skipped to 70 then leveled to 80, then he could be seeing a normal gold side-quest that is level 60 That has him confused. It's also possible he really has leveled he is still not sure about side quests.

It's curious but certainly possible this isn't a troll and it's not a skip, but someone who needs a friend on his server to help him with the stuff he's missed - like materia.

If your level 80 and still doing Stormblood Quests thats on you my friend. Why not start an alt class? Why not just enjoy the story?

He's probably doing the Mor Dhona quests to resolve the Doman Refugee storyline that you have to do before it lets you set up the Doman Enclave.

I recently started an alt to play through ARR and Heavensward again as a completely fresh character. I started out doing the MSQ and side quests, but by Quest Level 15 I was already Character Level 25 so I stopped doing side quests and focused only on MSQ, Hunting Log and FATEs for GC seals to get promotions, and an occasional Roulette to get the lvl 50 tomestone gear. It wasn't until I was almost done with the 2.0 MSQ that I finally went down to level 57. By the time I finished 2.55 content I was halfway through 58. If I had continued doing side quests I'd probably be level 65 at the rate I was going.

There's no way to bypass expansion MSQ content without buying a skip. Even if you're level 90 and haven't finished all of the Stormblood MSQ patches you won't be able to access Shadowbringers. That's just how it is; content is locked behind progression in the MSQ.

As other posters have said, use the XP from quests you're doing to level an alt class instead of continuing to gain it on Archer. That's your best option under the circumstances. You can still do the quests on Archer, just turn them in on the alt class.

Normally, I'd say someone who has never played a MMO other than WoW before and thinks they're all supposed to be designed the same as WoW. Not having English as a primary language is making communication more difficult.

Any interest in trying to have a helpful discussion got tossed out the window at that point. Someone who can't figure out how the game is supposed to be played is not going to get to level cap faster than those who know how to play it (unless he's buying a boost from other players who do know how)

So? Who cares? This ain't WoW, this is another game entirely.

As for why you're still in earlier content while you're level 80ish, it's because unlike most MMOs, Final Fantasy 14 is more of a JRPG with a MMO skin. Final Fantasy games have a heavy focus on the story, and FF14 has that heavy focus on the story as well. It's because the devs actually want their players to understand the world better and WHY we do the raids and dungeons, instead of just dropping us in random things for no reason. If you can't handle that, then either buy a story skip, or move to another game.

The whole "WoW is the best MMO and 14 should be like WoW" angle is so overplayed at this point. It's boring. Come up with something with more pizzazz, at least. As it stands this isn't even a 3/10 troll attempt. I'd give it like a two, tops.

The Thavnair topic was more entertaining than this one. Trolls have really started to loose their touch, and ability to coherently speak english well enough for us to even know what exactly they are trolling about.

Right now you're not even the least bit funny. You just sound like you stuck your tongue in an electrical outlet and then tried to have a full on conversation.

Level doesn't really matter as far as accessing content goes (aside from being high enough level to access what's immediately next). Even if you are level 80, you still have to finish lvl 60 content before moving to lvl 70 content THEN moving to lvl 80 content. Even if you are overleveled, you gotta do it all.
