Is a rule that is not enforced really a rule to be followed?
This explain why i get attacked by ranged attacks from the other part of the map and why some ppl can heal themselves to full like 5 Times in a row without apparent reason.. and i've also seen people on mount getting attacked and not getting heavy
I am sure most people have their own ethical standards they follow, so do not think it is a lack of ethics or morals but more so a difference in what people value.
Honor may not have a value in one's system and that is why we need enforcement if we want rules to be follow we can expect people to operate on an Honor system.
I do feel like the lack of action towards even the PvP hackers is strongly suggestive of some underlying problem with how they go about screening for cheaters.
If I had to guess, it's overreliance on whatever flawed detection "tools" they're using due to their low staff making in-person investigations for every single cheating report unfeasible even though such investigations would readily expose both the hackers and botters alike.
Which is why I feel like they seriously need to outsource investigations to the GMs since we'd at least have a few people monitoring each DC that way.
There's a misconception that the JP side of things doesn't have issues with hackers and the like, but it was free trial bots hacking in PvP on their end of things that ended up getting trials blocked from the mode entirely, and I've seen JP players complaining about the same common RMT-related bots like treasure map/shard farmers.
I feel like it's mostly on the STF that things are as bad as they are and the head devs would probably make sweeping changes if they had a full picture of just how prevalent cheaters have become, but they're only getting it in bits and pieces from their interviews and other media platforms that allow players to have a direct channel to them on rare occasions.
The STF being based strictly in Japan would mean that any reports being sent in from other regions would likely need to be translated and relayed to them...which is insanely impractical even if they weren't working with such a small taskforce.
The silly thing is that the ToS explicitly states that it's within a GM's power to investigate reports of cheating, yet if you try to get them on someone's case, they will immediately redirect you to the STF so...there's something really off about this whole situation if the ToS is contradicting itself.
I might have to do this honestly... It's going to look ugly since it's basically witch hunting. If they get banned then they make a new one then the cycle repeats over and over until SE makes changes.
They took action on a 500 likes 300 retweet tweet so Imma try to rally people up for that.
I don't think you can really witch hunt in PvP when names are turned off by default.
A simple compilation of people using hacks to move quickly or ignore CC would be enough to make a point I'd think.
... Pumping this thread because they are still playing and cheating -.-

Made a witch hunt twitter, I'm trying to amass as many people as I can first.
Afterwards, I'm arranging some scheduled twitter post and ping every FFXIV community I'm in to get as much retweets/likes as possible so that I can replicate the report tweet above to get them ban.
The next time I post in this thread will be when I post the tweet. Can't believe I have to go this far just to HOPEFULLY get some cheater banned.
For any hacker/cheater with proof, I plan to use this twitter in the future to just witch hunt players and hopefully one day SE will have some dedicated team that's not just 4 Japanese people handling hacker/botter/cheater cases.
Do you even understand why it is called "witch hunt"? Nothing good came from them. So please refrain from doing stuff like this.
Well, what other option do you suggest?
It took 6 months from everyone's joint effort on Primal to ban this guy's alt/trail account that is using hacks.
Right now, his main is power leveling another alt/trial character in copperbell mine field so he can use it at lvl 30 to terrorize Primal Frontline with hack again.
How about permeantly ban trail account user to play frontline?
Are you going to say why punish other innocent trail account users?
Give us a better suggestion instead
Trial accounts are already blocked from PvP thanks to some people trying accomplish who knows what by setting up bots that would just spam Rival Wings, then teleport demolishers over the enemy objectives and bomb them without any fear of retaliation.
