"However, considering the current state of heavy server load, we are postponing the date of reopening until next week or later."
A month later - nothing new. We actually have to wait for the new servers to arrive for home world transfers to return. They should've updated the notice by now, sigh.

until next week or later.
Highlighted the important part and the reason why they don't need to update it. Because technically we are still in the "or later" timeframe.
Really wish we got an update on it because I'd love to transfer and raid with a group of friends. ;c
I understand that there is probably something SE is still waiting for on this issue and they didn't just forget about it, but they could at least do some kind of update on the news post. The post being over a month stale with no updates at all just feels like bad transparency for the players. Even if the update basically amounts to "The servers are still more congested than we'd like them to be, but we're still working on this. Sorry for the inconvenience." at least it's not dead silence.
Adding my voice to the choir. It's now the middle of January, and no update on when this service will be made available again, or even why it was disabled in the first place. My roommate and I would love to transfer to Crystal where there are virtually no prime-time queues, and off of Aether were we are unable to play due to 2-hour queues (2200+ players). Please take our money. Please?
You know they supposed to release a roadmap at end of this month just like his letter say in Dec they probably waiting for other servers before they allow servers transfers.
its killing me the waiting. I really hope they open up soon as the queues are not that bad imo
In a recent interview he mentioned next week would be the earliest they'd give an update.
Thank you for this. I admit I don’t follow all the various interviews and whatnot, and all I had was the last Lodestone News update from 12/4/2021 that said “next week or later”. I realize “or later” gives them the freedom to let this go over a month with no official posted update, but given their transparency with pretty much everything else, it seemed like the Home World Transfer freeze had been totally forgotten.
I’m trying to stay patient but it’s hard when my roommate and I are essentially locked out of our characters due to queue times taking up nearly our entire available playtime each evening, all the while knowing servers on other data centers have no queues at all…
I believe they stated they would give more information on this towards the end of January as well as a road map. If I had to guess though I would not expect the freeze to be lifted soon. The earliest I would assume is once more servers are installed. The latest I would assume is when sales open back up.
I hope not, since I don’t anticipate new servers for quite some time, and reopening Home World Transfers could actually alleviate congestion. They could leave the heaviest servers / data centers locked down, allowing transfers OFF but not TO. I know plenty of people eager to get off Aether so they can actually play the game. Knowing Crystal sees no queues during weekday evening prime-time, while Aether still sees 2-hour queues, is gutting for many.
This is kind of an issue in itself, though. You shouldn't need to scour the internet for every random interview just to get updated news on this kind of thing. They could actually update the lodestone announcement with something like "Sorry for the delay. We're still working on this and should have more information in the coming weeks." and it would be a lot more visible to the community than wherever this other update came from. Sure, not every factoid in interviews is lodestone feed worthy, but this is important information about the status of ongoing server issues, not just random behind the scenes sneak peaks or developer commentary.
This are evidently several new posts on the lodestone today talking about the Oceania data center, transfer service, etc. The one about world transfer service gives a date for re-opening the service; however, the original "Special Notice" about the world transfer service hasn't been updated with this info, despite being pinned at the top.
January 26th is the announced date.
