Maybe Ramuh will be added to the spell list at some point. They opened the door to many possibilities. Personally, I'd take giant beard man over some cheap knock-off.

I mean I was hoping for them to look like they do in the ramuh fight the ones that he summons to charge final judgement but I agree with you bigger beard=easier to get lost and shoot attacks through while I'm safely protected by the fuzzy warm beard.

Ehh, I'm fine with it.

I mean, this is what happens when most of the CC in this game is head stuff, and it goes with the whole "They're not gonna give any race special treatment" thing they do. All reapers will have the body of their race and the character's face, that's ok by me.

And it's confirmed. It wasn't an in-progress thing or a bug, reaper shroud really just turns you into an earless hyur. :(

I REALLY hope they fix this, even if it's just to put generic placeholders on the model instead of your own hair/scales (do like a certain other reaper had for their body-transformation). Or at the very least let us toggle the effect off. I want to play the character I created, not a hyur, :T

I just.. I just want SE to stop amputating my body parts...

Yeah, it's too bad. It actually is unplayable in this state, so when I'm done leveling it, that's probably it.

Yeah, I was having fun leveling, and it was turning out to be the only melee that clicked with me. But seeing how it deletes 99% of my character choices that I worked hard to coordinate, my motivation to play it just tanked...

As a mi'qote, I like not having my ears appear on the hood.

It doesn't invalidate anyone elses thoughts, but it's a +1 to counter.

I find the elezen ear socks pretty distracting in most gear so I'm glad the void form doesn't have that problem.

It is a pretty enjoyable melee, yeah. This is too much though, having your defining racial features deleted. I'd love to know what happened to the supposed thing about how each race would have a unique appearance, because from what I've seen, they all look the same. Literally. Even viera lose their ears. For that matter, this whole thing seems to just be putting your character in a robe with red eyes. So, the "transformation" is a bit disappointing in the first place.

Not at all. Reaper converts to a single model and it's lame. Mostly because you're transforming into

Kind of wish they did the unique models as stated earlier, but I assume they ran out of time. Not even /anything/ on your character really sucks when it is clearly shown they could do more if they wanted.

SE, please.. Give us those unique models, or at least adjust the current ones. I want to play reaper, and keep my character's defining racial features! It looks very cool, but this sucks! I don't want my ears (or tail, or horns) amputated!

They should add custom ears/horns/tails to the Reaper Shroud form when it's engaged.

I didn't even notice until I took some time to go hit a dummy without being in actual combat. Can't really stand around in shrouded form for long anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

Yeah, that's probably what they were thinking over at SE. They already largely stopped taking racial features into account, but come on.. not even for a new job? They could have at least done something.. instead of turning everyone into a hyur!

Honestly wish the Reaper Shroud form was a glamour of some kind. I really like the outfit and skin textures. Kind of surprised we don't have a Reaper set that's almost a one to one copy without the Voidsent glowy effects.

There are some armors that do this too now. The tank and melee tomestone armors flat out remove tails for no real reason. It feels like someone on the art team just didn't take other races into account for quite a bit of gear this expansion.

To be entirely fair, there have been people wanting to hide tails from gear mostly because of clipping with tailcoats or capes, etc. In a perfect world, tails and maybe ears would be a toggle, but I think they're just trying to please different groups of people without going out of their way.

That said, it's weird the reaper form doesn't even have "horns" to pretend the ears are there.

Personally, I don't even like the reaper form at all, but hoping for any sort of alternate design would be like waiting for egi glamours at this point.

Which is weird, because the DRK artifact gear has tail armor. So they're kinda inconsistent about whether they account for it or not.

Well, tbh you're only in shroud for like 7 seconds and there's a crap ton of visual effects going off, so it's honestly hard to notice they aren't there even if you know they arent and hate that fact.

Yeah, and I don't agree with them. There are a plethora or other races that can be played without special ears or tails. The ears and tails of these races are defining (often times customizable) racial features, and shouldn't be removed. That's exactly it, "without going out of their way", because if they did go out of their way, we would have gear that accommodates these races. At the very least they could have done something to allow these features or a variant of them to appear on this model.

It's quality and consistency that matters. Just because something may not appear for very long at a time, doesn't mean they should just skimp out on other aspects of it. They went to the trouble of creating the form to begin with, but also supposedly stated there would be a unique variant of the form for each race.
