I feel we will just get into one of those "interweb arguements" that never ends, so opinions be opinions.

I prefer this method, and sadly will see it gone as i find it much more fun than the cluster fuck that is the "normal strategy".

You're sad to see an exploit being fixed?

I remember a time not too long ago when people here were asking for more difficult and dynamic content. Garuda gave us that, yet 95% of the playerbase chooses to abuse an exploit rendering what is actually a very fun and tactical fight into a plain old boring tank and spank encounter. That makes me sad.

I also find it Contradictory when people say.."WE WANT HARDER CONTENT" but when they release harder content... and people find an exploit that makes x Fight easier.. and SE tries to fix it.. they like.. " SE WHY U CHANGE THIS".

I love playing the game like the game was made for, Iffy, Moogle, Garuda are all Challenging fights.. that I want to fight them in a "Challenging" way, If someone tells me they found an exploit.. I just take the information.. but I won't use it unless the fight really becomes unbearable. However, if they are fixing an exploit.. then I'm all for that as well! =)

Just to be clear he has since edited his post to switch out pictures. So while I stand by the "no need to flame" comment for using the 3:30 method, I will flame his personal character for being a coward who lacks the conviction to at least stand by the method he used to go 7/7.

Should have just named this thread "Posting My Complete Garuda Weapon Set". Not sure why the veiled bragging attempt...

I think ppl take issue with the fact that you more or less cheated to get them (well used an exploit if you think there's a difference). This is assuming you blm mana-burned, which is what I believe I read ( i was skimming though so who knows). With that said, it should be no surprise to you that ppl dont bother to respect your thread or your post. Most people dont like cheaters, and dont like exploiters, especially when they then turn around and display their not-so-honest accomplishments. What did you honestly expect? As far as my own opinion goes, thats irrelevant. Regardless of your ethics, grats on all of your weapons. It probably would have been wiser to not make it so obvious in your screenshot though. Jus sayin. You basically said "hi i cheated look what I got." Next time you make an accomplishment thread, just go "hi look what i got". My personal opnion on that matter is that, if killing Garuda before she uses Aerial Blast is "cheating", then killing any boss in any game that has a countdown ability before it's timer reaches 0 is cheating as well. Then again, this is only my opnion. Anyways, this whole issue is being blown way out of proportion.

And for all the people to come in such a thread just to spew hate at the OP, next time, just ignore the thread and move on. Not to mntion thtat "E-peen" threads always have and always will be created after new content is introduced, deal with it.

Yoshida has stated quite clearly that this was not supposed to be possible for Garuda, it was a dev oversight. It was clearly an exploit by anyone that did it, and once yoshi confirmed it *was* an exploit that ends any discussion about whether its cheating or not. Yoshida confirmed it was an exploit. Yes it is cheating. There is no way around it, so your opinion, while you are welcome to maintain it, is not based on the facts of the matter right now as far as game designers are concerned. Cheating to get rewards is not something anyone should really respect, and the OP pretty much had it coming to him by making it so obvious. I do agree ppl went too far, but they always go too far.

wait how is maxing out your character's gear and stacking jobs cheating again? I'm not advocating it, I'm just saying. And if it was a super immediate issue it would have been patched... super immediately. It's just an adjustment that needs to be made, not cheating.

That's like saying people who use Storm's Path back in the day before it drastically changed to rack up exp/and spirit bond were cheating.

That isn't the issue Doho, in the most simple terms Garuda doesn't phase switched correctly because they incorrectly programmed her AI to recognise her current hp %. The result is you can take her down to about 60% HP and then BLM Burn her down in about 45 seconds - 1 minutes before she has time to cast Astral Flow. Something which they hadn't intended to be possible. However whether this is "Cheating" or not is a separate matter because SE has already stated that it was a programming oversight and won't be punishing people who adapt to it.

I await the banhammer or at least some form of punishment for using a known exploit (because Yoshi-P said so).

This thread is about those that have abused it enough to get a full set. If the dev team WERE to ban anyone, it'd be them. But they're not going to.

and last I checked, 70% of the player base even fighting Garuda is still an exaggeration...

I have no idea what the number is... And honestly, it would probably be hard to figure out.
Either way, you can't start banning people for burning a monster with BLMs anyway... It's the logical first thing people try (Maybe that and WAR stacking) for trying to clear content before anyone else

I am just going off of what I have personally seen on my server. Pretty much every party that goes into garuda is using the black mage method currently, I think I have seen maybe one or two parties at most that aren't. That is across all time zones that I have been out there. Theres obviously probably a few parties that I have missed since I didn't see the party of every job go in and they are on my server, but the bottom line is, if there is a simple way to do things then everyone will do it. Kind of like how after they patched moogle there was only like one linkshell that could actually win and everyone else came out dead for like a week afterwards.

Went 1/35, then baught 2. Still have about 32 headdresses so by the end of the week should be 7/7. Non-Blm burn btw.
