I like this idea, although I’d go even further and not have a Ruin spell for Scholar to begin with, since I’m still hoping that Scholar is eventually completely delinked from Arcanist altogether.

I just spam Art of War from lv46 to lv52 because it has same potency as Ruin I, gives me full mobility, allows me to auto-attack, and is an AoE. The MP cost is negligible as it is it's almost dumb to even warrant Ruin I MP cost reduction from first place. The only drawback is only when I have to move away from the boss which is rather... rare.
Experience sharing aside, I'm hoping for the opposite, as the ACN thematic roots are what gave SCH most of its uniqueness relative to other healers. DoTs, effect manipulations, building off of metamagics. That was ACN at work, just via a way of capitalizing upon those roots that mirrored, opposite, the means SMN took.
I'd rather see a revised Bane, a more interesting Energy Drain (rather than just a barrel-scraping means of trading out excess healing potential for at least something), and other things centered around Aetherflow than just more Seraph bs. By all means, let's actually do something with Stratagems, too, but the ACN base to SCH was a good one.
I've been wanting a stratagem system like FFXI's that would allow us to use AF for augmented spell effects. FFXI also had the choice between White and Black grimmoires, letting them temporarily focus either their offense or their recovery, and unlocking the stratagems around it.
They could have done something with the faeries for that, Eos and Selene had that flavour of offense and defense until they removed the choice.
I'd maybe step on the Eukrasian fantasy if Sage but I feel like SCH deserves that feeling of tactical AF usage to empower their abilities.
