Its one of those things IMO, I can't stand FATES most of the time and BLUE helps dealing with that little problem when I want to try to get something.
If FATES were honestly fun then yes I would call Blue Mage to be nerfed.

You're needlessly limiting yourself there. Who's to say you can't implement BLU as a caster DPS but also have content like the Masked Carnivale? Segregating a job like a leper and trying to present side-content for it as a consolation prize isn't a good look. And that's on top of having BLU fans getting to see their favorite job be treated as a nonfactor in-world.
That's a pretty big assumption. As I mentioned, you could have just given it the additional task of learning spells out in the world while still having designed it within the caster DPS paradigm. If quests have to be used, limit it only to milestone/big spells that would be unreasonable for a solo player to otherwise get (like learning a skill from a behemoth). It isn't an all-or-nothing deal, even if it seems the devs treat things as such.Quote:
And as a normal job they'd be limited to leveling up and the occasional job quest. The LORE of the job could be tied to studying monsters and mimicing them but the actual collection aspect would be missing as a normal job.
