I've been playing for 2 and half years and can count on one hand toxic interactions I got or witnessed in this game. And I'm using DF/PF all the time, from daily roulettes to savage raiding.

This tbh. Also don't bother telling healers to dps even though you're at full hp with mitigations popped on a small group. They'll tell you that you don't pay their subs.

I say I stand corrected because I had made the claim that the original post might have been more sarcastic but the poster did clarify they were being serious.

While I'm happy to hear differing perspectives I do plan to find out for myself what the community behaves like through my own experiences.

I have played for 11 years and I can count the toxic interactions on a couple hands. I stand by the thought that the ppl who are constantly encountering toxicity in ffxiv are either really sensitive and take even the smallest things as toxic or are the cause of the toxicity themselves.

1. I shouted in Limsa yesterday that I was looking for a bard who was playing to entertain me.
2. I was sitting on the ground by the Aetheryte in the dps queue leveling my summoner
3. 3 people randomly showed up with frog mask on around me.
4. They begin to play their guitars in a rough death metal for 15 minutes straight until my queue popped.

Howdy wow friend! Welcome to FFXIV ♥! I've recently (as of 3 months ago) quit wow myself after like 10 years of playing it as well, you'll enjoy it here and I hope you find many years of joy and friends like you did in WoW.

I highly suggest the first thing you do if you ever plan to level a healer is to make the most passive aggressive and cringy raise macro you can to make people raise and then die again from the cringe of it.

I'm sorry, but what you're describing is not toxicity at all. It was just some folks pulling a harmless prank who obviously thought their antics were funnier than you did. If they stalked you around the game, verbally harassed you, or something along those lines, then it would be more serious. But it sounds like all they did was briefly toot on some virtual instruments, which you can easily mute or else simply move away out of their sound range. And like you said, you weren't trying to accomplish something in game that they were interfering with, you were literally just choosing to wait around there for 15 minutes while this went on.

I don't think we should pretend all FFXIV players are perfect little angels, but if the topic of toxicity comes up and this is the kind of situation that comes to your mind, I don't even know what to say. I guess I can offer my sympathies to whatever extent this incident is still bothering you, but I honestly don't see why you're still so raw about a 15 minute hootenanny. I had to watch the first Twilight movie with my girlfriend one time, and that lasted TWO HOURS! I couldn't even mute it!
